We have an exclusive look at the first clip from The Red Mask<\/strong>, in which a screenwriter\u2019s attempt to revive an \u201980s slasher blurs the lines between homage, horror, and reality.<\/p>\n

The meta horror film will have its world premiere at FrightFest<\/strong><\/a> in London on August 23.<\/p>\n

When hotshot indie screenwriter Allina Green is hired to revive a cult slasher franchise, she and her fianc\u00e9e Deetz retreat to a remote rental to \u2018method-write\u2019 a fresh take. But as Allina\u2019s script begins to rewrite itself and two unsettling strangers show up claiming to have booked the same cabin, her weekend writing retreat becomes a terrifying descent into fandom, identity, and a legacy she never asked to inherit.<\/p>\n

Helena Howard<\/strong> (I Saw the TV Glow), Inanna Sarkis<\/strong> (Seance), Jake Abel<\/strong> (Malignant), and Kelli Garner<\/strong> (Lars and the Real Girl) star. Dead Meat\u2019s James A. Janisse <\/strong>and Chelsea Rebecca<\/strong> make cameos.<\/p>\n

Ritesh Gupta<\/strong> makes his feature directorial debut from a script by Samantha Gurash<\/strong> and Patrick Robert Young<\/strong> (Bastard). Create Entertainment and Intrinsic Value Films are behind the project with Atit Shah, Aimee Schoof, <\/strong>and Isen Robbins<\/strong> producing.<\/p>\n
