{"id":348024,"date":"2025-08-16T02:05:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-16T02:05:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/348024\/"},"modified":"2025-08-16T02:05:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-16T02:05:10","slug":"spacex-aims-to-launch-starship-flight-10-test-flight-on-aug-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/348024\/","title":{"rendered":"SpaceX aims to launch Starship Flight 10 test flight on Aug. 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p id=\"bf783aac-a2f4-4661-be9c-8e985cda197c\">SpaceX says the 10th integrated test flight of its Super Heavy Starship launch vehicle could launch as soon as Aug. 24.<\/p>\n<p>Liftoff from the company&#8217;s <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/private-spaceflight\/will-spacexs-starbase-become-a-city-voters-will-decide-on-may-3\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/private-spaceflight\/will-spacexs-starbase-become-a-city-voters-will-decide-on-may-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starbase<\/a>, Texas, manufacturing and test site is expected during a launch window that begins at 7:30 p.m. EDT (2330 GMT). <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18853-spacex.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18853-spacex.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SpaceX<\/a> announced the launch date on X Friday (Aug. 15), about one week later than SpaceX CEO <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18849-elon-musk.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18849-elon-musk.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Elon Musk predicted in mid-July<\/a> when he estimated Starship would launch again in &#8220;about three weeks.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"bf783aac-a2f4-4661-be9c-8e985cda197c-2\">Flight 10 will be Starship&#8217;s fourth launch of 2025, and comes at a critical junction in the spacecraft&#8217;s development. Starship&#8217;s three previously flights this year have ended with the loss of the upper stage, and with each loss comes a tighter squeeze on the timeline to ready the vehicle to serve as the lunar lander for the astronauts on NASA&#8217;s <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/artemis-3-moon-landing-mission\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/artemis-3-moon-landing-mission\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Artemis 3<\/a> mission to the surface of <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/55-earths-moon-formation-composition-and-orbit.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/55-earths-moon-formation-composition-and-orbit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the moon<\/a>, slated for sometime in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>You may like<\/p>\n<p id=\"152e8206-8be2-4ffc-9250-16dddd191dd0\">The fully stacked, the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starship-super-heavy.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starship-super-heavy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Super Heavy<\/a> booster and the Starship upper stage stand about 394 feet (120 meters) tall. Flight 10 will fly Booster 16 and Ship 37, both Block 2 variants of the evolving launch vehicle, as SpaceX introduces incremental upgrades for each mission.<\/p>\n<p>The launch follows Flight 9, which <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-launches-starship-flight-9-to-space-in-historic-reuse-of-giant-megarocket-video\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacex-launches-starship-flight-9-to-space-in-historic-reuse-of-giant-megarocket-video\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lifted off May 27<\/a> and ended with the Ship upper stage breaking apart in space about 45 minutes into flight. Less than a month later, on June 18, a static test fire at Starbase <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacexs-starship-explodes-in-texas-during-preparations-for-10th-test-flight\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/spacexs-starship-explodes-in-texas-during-preparations-for-10th-test-flight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resulted in an explosion<\/a>, destroying Ship 36 \u2014 the vehicle original slated for Flight 10 \u2014 and damaging SpaceX test infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Those mishap <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/updates#flight-9-report\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.spacex.com\/updates#flight-9-report\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" rel=\"noopener\">investigations completed<\/a>, Starship Flight 10 is headed to the launchpad with a fresh set of mission objectives. Once in space, after stage separation, Starship will deploy eight <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starlink-satellites.html\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/spacex-starlink-satellites.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Starlink<\/a> satellite mass simulators, perform an in-space Raptor engine relight and attempt a controlled splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
