Archive photo<\/p>\n<p><strong>The European Union\u2019s Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, has reiterated the EU\u2019s firm support for Libya\u2019s municipal elections, stressing the need to safeguard their freedom and integrity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In recent remarks, Orlando underlined that elections are a fundamental democratic right and called on all stakeholders to ensure the process remains free, fair and inclusive across the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe European Union stands ready to continue providing technical and logistical support to the High National Election Commission (HNEC) to help deliver credible and transparent polls,\u201d Orlando said.<\/p>\n<p>Some local reports have alleged the suspension of voting in certain cities and incidents targeting electoral offices, although these claims have not been officially confirmed.
