{"id":34833,"date":"2025-04-20T05:52:08","date_gmt":"2025-04-20T05:52:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/34833\/"},"modified":"2025-04-20T05:52:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-20T05:52:08","slug":"first-steps-trailer-includes-easter-eggs-referencing-wandavision-and-the-last-of-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/34833\/","title":{"rendered":"FIRST STEPS Trailer Includes Easter Eggs Referencing WANDAVISION And THE LAST OF US"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marvel Studios released an epic new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps yesterday, and all signs point to the movie doing right by Marvel&#8217;s First Family.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/fantastic-four\/the-fantastic-four-trailer-breakdown-9-biggest-reveals-easter-eggs-spoilers-and-comic-references-a218773\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>We&#8217;ve already broken down the biggest surprises and reveals<\/strong><\/a>, but a closer look at the reboot&#8217;s Times Square showcases a couple of fun Easter Eggs that tip their hat to the MCU and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>The first pays homage to WandaVision with a store named &#8220;Westview Appliances &amp; Television.&#8221; The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman helmed the Disney+ series, and both have the 1960s setting in common. Beyond that, we wouldn&#8217;t anticipate them being connected in any way.<\/p>\n<p>The next reference appears to pay homage to Mister Fantastic actor Pedro Pascal&#8217;s role in The Last of Us as a theater is showing a movie called &#8220;Attack Of The Fungu&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/comicbookmovie.com\/video-games\/last-of-us\/the-last-of-us-season-2-review-pedro-pascal-is-a-force-to-be-reckoned-with-in-powerful-rousing-triumph-a218539\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>you can read our review of season 2 by clicking here<\/strong><\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Fantastic Four are the only superheroes in this reality, though we&#8217;re sure there will be plenty of nods to this team&#8217;s comic book adventures.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Walter Hauser recently teased what fans can expect from the movie when he said,\u00a0<strong>&#8220;I don\u2019t think I\u2019m speaking out of school. And I think, from what I\u2019ve seen, and obviously I can\u2019t say much about it, but I will say the short time I was on set, dude, they\u2019re making a cool movie, man. This is a smart, chic Marvel movie that really focuses on family as part of the theme. And you really kind of fall in love with those characters, I think.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;And that\u2019s what\u2019s missing is sometimes if you don\u2019t fall in love with these characters, and you keep putting them in peril, we don\u2019t really care,&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0he said of what&#8217;s hurt recent MCU titles.\u00a0<strong>&#8220;You know, you got to make us care first. And if Galactus\u2019 plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren\u2019t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in mystery roles.
