Just don\u2019t forget sunscreen and a sun hat as the sun can be fierce at the coast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/family-kids-news\/best-beaches-visit-near-greater-31551743\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">There are some incredible beaches within easy reach of Greater Manchester along the coastlines of Lancashire, Sefton, The Wirral, and North Wales.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Formby Beach is always popular, although this year visitors travelling by car are urged to stay away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \"><strong class=\"Strong_strong__e2x35\">Stay connected with our City Life newsletter <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/newsletter-preference-centre\/?view=Solus&amp;mailingListId=d1c9a1cf-d773-47a3-b51a-f456316221bc&amp;utm_source=solusarticle\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"hereLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A major construction project is underway and the car park at Victoria Road closed to vehicles on Thursday, May 1, and will remain closed until Spring 2026.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_Blue-sky-and-golden-sand-at-Ainsdale-BeachPic-Andrew-Teebay.jpg\" alt=\"This weekend you won't see any cars on Ainsdale Beach due to high sands \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>This weekend you won&#8217;t see any cars on Ainsdale Beach due to high sands (Image: Andrew Teebay Liverpool Echo)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Although the Lifeboat Road car park and toilets will remain open, parking is extremely limited and to avoid being turned away, the National Trust has warned against visitors driving to Formby Beach on busy, sunny days this summer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">For those looking for something similar to Formby, then Ainsdale, a little further up the coast, comes pretty close.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Like Formby it too has sand dunes and a tranquil pine wood, where you can follow twisting trails through the trees &#8211; and enjoy some shady respite from the sun.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Keep your eyes peeled and you may even spot a resident red squirrel.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_Enjoying-the-view-at-Ainsdale-BeachPic-Andrew-Teebay.jpg\" alt=\"Like Formby Ainsdale Beach is backed by sand dunes \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Like Formby Ainsdale Beach is backed by sand dunes (Image: Andrew Teebay Liverpool Echo)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The beach itself is vast with lots of room for kids to run around.
