These funds are directed toward a wide range of areas, including strengthening Ukraine\u2019s air defence, implementing large-scale winter assistance programs, restoring the energy system, supporting the civilian population, providing humanitarian aid, conducting demining operations, and supplying essential equipment to civilian security forces.<\/p>\n
The Foreign Ministry underlined that support is being provided through deliveries from Bundeswehr stocks as well as industrial supplies of weapons and equipment.<\/p>\n
This announcement comes as five European NATO members have agreed to establish a new financing mechanism to cover payments for Ukraine\u2019s weapons purchases in the United States.<\/p>\n
Germany and the Netherlands have each pledged \u20ac500 million, while Sweden, Norway, and Denmark will contribute the remaining funds.<\/p>\n
According to estimates by the German Institute for World Economics in Kiel (IfW Kiel), by mid-2025, Europe had overtaken the United States in terms of total military aid provided to Ukraine.<\/p>\n
European spending reached \u20ac35.1 billion, which exceeded US contributions by \u20ac4.4 billion.<\/p>\n
