weather<\/a> has taken a slight downturn on Merseyside today and holidaymakers will be hoping to jet off in search of some much needed sunshine.<\/p>\nHolidaymakers may be hoping to dress for their destination ahead of the flight and opt to wear shorts on a plane. However, a flight attendant has explained why this may not be the best idea.<\/p>\n
Tommy Cimato, who boasts over 400,000 followers on TikTok, shared the advice in a video that has now been viewed over 5m times. The flight attendant said: “Do not or try not to wear shorts when you’re on an aeroplane.<\/p>\n
“It’s the same thing as the window, you never know how clean it’s gonna be, so if you have pants, you’re gonna have less germs.” Tommy also urged people to not sleep or rest their head on the window of the plane.<\/p>\n
The tip was based on concerns around how many people have touched the glass. He added: “Do not fall asleep or lean your head on the window.<\/p>\n
“You are not the only that has done that and you don’t know how many people or children have wiped their hands or other things all over the window.”<\/p>\n
Tommy’s other tips that rounded off his top five were a little less controversial. He said: “Do not ever touch the flush button with your bare hands.<\/p>\n
“It’s honestly just super unsanitary and pretty gross so when you flush, use a napkin or tissue that’s in the lavatory. Don’t forget to drink water.<\/p>\n
“Stay hydrated. You wanna have about 16oz for every flight you go on, so keep that in mind. Don’t feel afraid to let a flight attendant know if you’re feeling sick.<\/p>\n
“So if you need food, water, or an air sickness bag, please feel free to let us know.” Some viewers took to the comments to share their surprise after the advice.<\/p>\n
@Dublin posted: “Aren\u2019t the planes being completely sanitised between each flight now?” Alex added: “Don’t they sanitise after every flight?”<\/p>\n
The TikTok creator took to the comments to response to the query as he said: “The ground crew does all the plane cleaning, they try their best to keep it clean but this is just in case if it gets missed!”<\/p>\n
A user named Mario took to the comments and added: “Do people in the comments really think the crew has time to clean every inch of the plane?
