Ukrainians mocked Vladimir Putin\u2019s strange \u201cshaking\u201d legs<\/a> as he bade farewell to Donald Trump early at the Alaska summit after lunch was cancelled. They even claimed he wore a \u201clight exoskeleton\u201d as well as thick-platform shoes to overcome his \u2018Napoleon complex\u2019 and minimise his height difference with the US president.<\/p>\n

Footage showed Putin repeatedly bending his knee<\/a> as he stood speaking to Trump before leaving Elmendorf-Richardson airbase in Anchorage after refusing to call a ceasefire in the war.<\/p>\n

His thick-soled shoes were clearly visible to compensate for the 8-inch difference in height between 6ft 3 inch Trump and 5ft 7 inch Putin.<\/p>\n

\u201cAttention \u2014 Putin’s legs. What is wrong with them?\u201d asked the Times of Ukraine<\/a> channel.<\/p>\n

\u201cPutin seems to have achieved his goal, but he is twitching suspiciously. His legs are \u2018shaking.\u2019 Maybe his shoes are tight,\u201d said Nevzorov channel.<\/p>\n

As well as pushing out his knees, Putin repeatedly raised his left toe and heel in turn.<\/p>\n

Another Ukrainian outlet commented on how Putin \u201csuddenly \u2018grew\u2019 for the meeting with Trump\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cA strange element resembling a light exoskeleton was noticed in the outfit of the Russian dictator,\u201d claimed Crimean Wind.<\/p>\n

The 20 centimetre – or eight inch – difference in the leaders\u2019 heights was \u201cnot very noticeable on the video.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, something resembling a light exoskeleton under the [trousers] \u2013 at least from the knees down \u2013 is noticeable.<\/p>\n

\u201cApparently, suffering from a Napoleon complex, Putin decided not to limit himself to traditional shoes with hidden platforms adding up to 12 cm [almost 5 inches] in height for the \u2018meeting of the century\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later, Putin was seen bending his knee to lay flowers at the graves of Soviet pilots and other military personnel at the Fort Richardson Memorial Cemetery.<\/p>\n

During the Lend-Lease programme during the Second World War, Soviet pilots trained in Alaska and ferried U.S.-built aircraft across the Bering Strait.<\/p>\n

Some died during training or flights.<\/p>\n

After laying flowers, Putin returned to his \u2018Flying Kremlin\u2019 Il-96-300PU presidential plane, where he is known as \u201cPassenger Number One\u201d.<\/p>\n

Footage from Putin\u2019s plane showed he was given an F-35 Lightning II fighter escort from Anchorage to the American-Russian border.<\/p>\n
