\u0130TV, the Azerbaijani national broadcaster, has confirmed their participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Tbilisi.<\/p>\n

Azerbaijan will return to Junior Eurovision for the first time since 2021. Alongside confirming their participation, \u0130TV also launched the Azerbaijani selection for the contest. The submission window is now open and will remain open until August 31.<\/p>\n

Applicants must be aged between 9 and 14 and must submit a video of themselves singing two songs; one in Azerbaijani and one in a foreign language. All videos must be sent via Whatsapp to +994 55 205 31 23. \u0130TV has also contacted the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan to submit a list of singers who have participated in international contests and festivals. Singers from this list may be directly invited to participate.<\/p>\n

Once all of the applications have been received, several performers will be selected for a further round of auditions. A six-member jury will evaluate the performers\u2019 stage performance, vocal abilities and charisma. The performer deemed to be the best by the jury will represent Azerbaijan in Tbilisi.<\/p>\n

Azerbaijan last participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, when Sona Azizova finished in 5th place with the song \u201cOne of Those Days\u201d.<\/p>\n

Junior Eurovision 2025<\/p>\n

Junior Eurovision 2025 will be held on December 13 in Tbilisi after Andria Putkaradze gave Georgia their record-breaking fourth victory with \u201cTo My Mom\u201d. The contest will be held at the Olympic Palace, which previously hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.<\/p>\n

A number of countries have either confirmed their participation in Junior Eurovision 2025 or signaled their intention to compete. These countries are:<\/p>\n

Estonia<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Germany<\/a>\u00a0have both withdrawn from the competition. The following broadcasters have confirmed they have no plans to return:<\/p>\n

Azerbaijan in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest<\/p>\n

Azerbaijan debuted in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest at the 2012 contest in Amsterdam. The nation had previously attempted to participate in the contest in 2008 but withdrew before the competition was held. The country\u2019s record in the contest has not been as strong as in the Eurovision Song Contest. Azerbaijan\u2019s best result came in 2021 on their last appearance in the contest, where Sona Azizova placed 5th with the song \u201cOne of Those Days\u201d. <\/p>\n
