Per The Telegraph, a palace source said the inaccuracy was included erroneously after it was \u201cinserted as a late addition and not put through the otherwise rigorous checking process,\u201d the outlet reported, adding that the \u201cfact\u201d had been sourced from a \u201creputable publication online\u201d and an article from said publication in 2023.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_16-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> \u201cThe facts were checked, and that one was a late addition, sourced from a reputable publication online, which unfortunately wasn\u2019t put back through the checking process,\u201d a palace source told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-15001377\/Red-faced-Buckingham-Palace-inserts-embarrassing-falsehood-75-facts-Princess-Anne-birthday.html\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Mail<\/a>, adding, \u201cThere was no AI sourcing on our part.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_20-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Well, Anne might not be a stepmother, but she is the longtime hardest working member of the British royal family, supporting over 399 charities, organizations, and military regiments in the U.K. and beyond (per The Daily Mail); she was the first member of the British royal family to compete in an Olympic Games, when she was a member of the British Equestrian team at the 1976 Montreal Games (her daughter, Zara, would later follow in her Olympic footsteps); she was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize in 1990 for her work as president of Save the Children; she was the first member of the royal family to appear as a contestant on a television quiz show (the BBC panel game, A Question of Sport); and she\u2019s completed a total of 562 overseas visits, including visiting every continent.\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> This isn\u2019t the first time the palace has made a goof (hey, they\u2019re human too): When <a class=\"recommendation-inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instyle.com\/princess-beatrice-velvet-blazer-baby-bump-8723871\" link-destination-recommendation=\"true\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Beatrice<\/a> announced her second pregnancy last October, Beatrice was initially referred to as \u201cHer Royal Highes,\u201d an incorrect spelling of her Her Royal Highness (HRH) title, <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/princess-beatrice-pregnancy-announcement-mistake-buckingham-palace-report-8721768\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">People<\/a> reported.
