Taylor spoke to both managers and captains before play resumed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Merseyside police later said a 47-year-old man had been ejected from Anfield after reports of the racist abuse, adding that an investigation was under way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cLast night at Anfield will stay with me forever \u2013 not because of one person\u2019s words, but because of how the entire football family stood together,\u201d Semenyo wrote on Instagram. \u201cTo my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/bournemouth\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" data-component=\"auto-linked-tag\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bournemouth<\/a> teammates who supported me in that moment, to the Liverpool players and fans who showed their true character, to the Premier League officials who handled it professionally \u2013 thank you. Football showed its best side when it mattered most.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">With Liverpool leading 2-0, Semenyo then netted twice in the second half to level the score before the home side struck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/aug\/15\/liverpool-bournemouth-premier-league-match-report\" data-link-name=\"in body link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two late goals to win 4-2<\/a>. \u201cScoring those two goals felt like speaking the only language that truly matters on the pitch,\u201d the 25-year-old added. \u201cThis is why I play \u2013 for moments like these, for my teammates, for everyone who believes in what this beautiful game can be.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">\u201cThe overwhelming messages of support from across the football world remind me why I love this sport.
