Police have launched a murder investigation after a young woman was found dead in east London<\/a>.<\/p>\n The woman, in her 20s, was found suffering critical injuries after reports of an \u2018assault\u2019 in Chadwell Heath at 5.30am.<\/p>\n Paramedics fought to save the woman outside the entrance to Sanctuary Care centre but she was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n Although the woman has not been formally identified officers said the victim was in her twenties.<\/p>\n \t\t Police say a post-mortem examination is being held to determine the nature of her injuries.<\/p>\n Forensics recovered a colourful handbag with a phone charger, clothing and toothpaste inside from the scene of the killing.<\/p>\n Police said the family have been informed of her death and are being supported by family liaison officers. <\/p>\n \t\t The murder scene is close to a village green popular with dog walkers.<\/p>\n Det Supt Brian Hobbs said: \u2018Our thoughts today are with the victim\u2019s family and friends in light of this truly tragic event.<\/p>\n \u2018Local residents will see an increased number of officers in and around the area while our investigative work is carried out. <\/p>\n \u2018I want to thank residents for their patience while this continues.
