It\u2019s about time. He\u2019s almost been forgotten in the blur of the summer, but <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/trent-alexander-arnold\/\" title=\"Trent Alexander-Arnold\" rel=\"noopener\">Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>\u2019s departure to <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/real-madrid\/\" title=\"Real Madrid\" rel=\"noopener\">Real Madrid<\/a> will be big for Liverpool.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, <strong>Tim Spiers<\/strong> completes an eclectic mix of choices for The Athletic, saying City will be champions:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201c<a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/man-city\" rel=\"noopener\">Man City<\/a> had a disastrous 2024\/25 season and still only finished 13 points behind Liverpool. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey undoubtedly have the best manager, striker and possibly squad in the league, and I think they\u2019ll probably overhaul Liverpool again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/P2025-08-15-Liverpool_Bournemouth-56-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - Friday, August 15, 2025: Liverpool's Hugo Ekitike celebrates his side scoring the second goal during the FA Premier League match between Liverpool FC and AFC Bournemouth at Anfield. (Photo by David Rawcliffe\/Propaganda)\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden alignnone size-medium wp-image-325698\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Liverpool are \u201crich in attacking options\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andy Hunter<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/football\/2025\/aug\/11\/premier-league-2025-26-preview-no-12-liverpool\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Guardian<\/a> is going for another title triumph for Liverpool, saying the Reds are rich in attacking options \u2013 despite <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arne-slot\/\" title=\"Arne Slot\" rel=\"noopener\">Arne Slot<\/a> insisting they\u2019re light in that area, with only four real options:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLiverpool have added pace in both full-back positions with the signings of <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/milos-kerkez\/\" title=\"Milos Kerkez\" rel=\"noopener\">Milos Kerkez<\/a> and <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/jeremie-frimpong\/\" title=\"Jeremie Frimpong\" rel=\"noopener\">Jeremie Frimpong<\/a>, two parts of a statement transfer window [..]<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRich in attacking options, Liverpool by contrast appear light in central defence and will require another imperious campaign from <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/virgil-van-dijk\/\" title=\"Virgil van Dijk\" rel=\"noopener\">Virgil van Dijk<\/a> and Ibrahima Konat\u00e9. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pair were a formidable unit last season. The defending champions appear the same.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ASh4_neOEEM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Rest Is Football<\/a> trio <strong>Gary Lineker<\/strong>, <strong>Alan Shearer<\/strong> and <strong>Micah Richards<\/strong> all predict a title win for Liverpool, although the latter claims a fit Rodri would make City favourites!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComplete confidence\u201d<\/p>\n<p>BBC\u2019s <strong>Phil McNulty<\/strong> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/c70771lq88zo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC Sport<\/a> has begrudgingly predicted Liverpool to be champions:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThis is a team that won the title at a 10-point canter last term and has been strengthened by a remarkable summer spending spree. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe transition is still a work in progress, as the Community Shield loss to <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/crystal-palace\" rel=\"noopener\">Crystal Palace<\/a> proved, but this is a prediction made with complete confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>20 of BBC\u2019s 32 pundits back Liverpool<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, 32 of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/football\/articles\/cx27rrrz2nko\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BBC Sport<\/a>\u2018s pundits have made their predictions, with 20 of them picking Liverpool as champions, including <strong>Wayne Rooney<\/strong> and <strong>Danny Murphy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Chris Waddle<\/strong> is the only one to choose <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/chelsea\" rel=\"noopener\">Chelsea<\/a> for the title, which seems bold!<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/sport\/football\/news\/premier-league-predictions-liverpool-arsenal-35697270\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mirror<\/a>\u2018s <strong>Andy Dunn<\/strong> not only believes Liverpool will be champions, but has also backed <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/mohamed-salah\/\" title=\"Mohamed Salah\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohamed Salah<\/a> to win the Golden Boot and <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/florian-wirtz\/\" title=\"Florian Wirtz\" rel=\"noopener\">Florian Wirtz<\/a> to be Player of the Year:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThey won it in a ten-point canter last season and have done storming business in the transfer market so it really is hard to back against Liverpool retaining their <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/premier-league\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> title and against <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/mohamed-salah\/\" title=\"Mohamed Salah\" rel=\"noopener\">Mohamed Salah<\/a> collecting another Golden Boot, especially when he will have the best signing of the window, <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/florian-wirtz\/\" title=\"Florian Wirtz\" rel=\"noopener\">Florian Wirtz<\/a>, to help him out.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-10-071-Community_Shield-600x400.jpg\" alt=\"LONDON, ENGLAND - Sunday, August 10, 2025: Liverpool players line-up behind their FA Premier League trophy during the FA Community Shield match between Crystal Palace FC and Liverpool FC at Wembley Stadium. (Photo by David Rawcliffe\/Propaganda)\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" class=\"lazy lazy-hidden alignnone size-medium wp-image-325454\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>A Champions League final too..?<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/football\/2025\/08\/13\/premier-league-club-by-club-guide-arsenal-liverpool-man-utd\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telegraph<\/a>\u2018s <strong>Chris Bascombe<\/strong> sees Liverpool as title favourites, but also has one eye on a <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/champions-league\" rel=\"noopener\">Champions League<\/a> battle with Paris Saint-Germain:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLiverpool\u2019s primary target is retaining the title, but they have unfinished business in the <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/champions-league\" rel=\"noopener\">Champions League<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe smart money is on Liverpool versus Paris St-Germain becoming the defining European rivalry of the season, if not the era.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Miguel Delaney<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/sport\/football\/premier-league-predictions-2025-26-b2805538.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Independent<\/a> believes Liverpool and <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arsenal\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal<\/a> will fight until the end, but he has gone for the Gunners:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cVery hard to pick between <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arsenal\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal<\/a> and Liverpool \u2013 and Alexander Isak may change things again \u2013 but there\u2019s strangely an element of uncertainty about the champions. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the same time, <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arsenal\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal<\/a> have solved a lot of issues they had last season.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Richard Jolly<\/strong> is more confident about Liverpool fending off <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arsenal\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal<\/a> and others:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMuch the best team last season and though <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/arsenal\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal<\/a> should improve and <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/man-city\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester City<\/a> definitely could, there has been plenty of ambition in Liverpool\u2019s recruitment, whether or not they get Alexander Isak. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will miss <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/trent-alexander-arnold\/\" title=\"Trent Alexander-Arnold\" rel=\"noopener\">Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a>\u2018s creativity but <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/florian-wirtz\/\" title=\"Florian Wirtz\" rel=\"noopener\">Florian Wirtz<\/a> adds another dimension, <a data-ail=\"325161\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thisisanfield.com\/liverpool-fc\/hugo-ekitike\/\" title=\"Hugo Ekitike\" rel=\"noopener\">Hugo Ekitike<\/a> looks potentially superb and they look stronger in most departments \u2013 though still needing a fourth centre-back and another attacker of some description.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>2025\/26 Previews and Predictions<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-lazy-type=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/2025-08-10-346-Community_Shield_HM.jpg\" alt=\"LONDON, ENGLAND - Sunday, August 10, 2025: Liverpool\u2019s captain Virgil van Dijk and head coach Arne Slot before the FA Community Shield match between Crystal Palace FC and Liverpool FC at Wembley Stadium.
