{"id":351201,"date":"2025-08-17T08:11:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-17T08:11:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/351201\/"},"modified":"2025-08-17T08:11:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-17T08:11:12","slug":"meghan-markle-left-inconsolable-after-scathing-attack-from-role-model","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/351201\/","title":{"rendered":"Meghan Markle left &#8216;inconsolable&#8217; after scathing attack from &#8216;role model&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Duchess of Sussex was slammed by a biographer and friend of Princess Diana who said &#8216;all her ideas are total crap&#8217; which apparently left a raging Meghan in tears<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_Meghan-3.jpg\" alt=\"Meghan Markle in floods of tears\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Meghan was left &#8216;in tears&#8217; over a commentator&#8217;s attack (Image: Netflix)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Since meeting <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/prince-harry\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a>, joining the royal family and then exiling herself from the monarchy, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/meghan-markle\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Meghan Markle<\/a> is no stranger to the spotlight.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">But there was one scathing criticism that reportedly cut deeper than the rest, because the Duchess admired the author who savaged her.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Tina Brown, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/tina-brown\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">a former editor of Vanity Fair and Tatler,<\/a> launched <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/3am\/us-celebrity-news\/meghan-markle-savaged-princess-dianas-33953946\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">a searing attack on Meghan&#8217;s judgement<\/a> which according to another royal commentator, Neil Sean, left her &#8220;inconsolable with tears and at the same time outraged&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Brown was a friend of <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/princess-diana\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Princess Diana<\/a> and had lunch with her just weeks before her tragic death at the age of 36. She&#8217;s flawless about getting it all wrong. All of her ideas are total crap, unfortunately.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Her words were reportedly particularly hard for Meghan to hear. &#8220;According to a source Meghan was bereft because she&#8217;d admired Tina Brown and in particular read her books simply because of her connection to Princess Diana and get this because she wanted to find a better connection so she could understand her husband Prince Harry and how he felt about his mother,&#8221; Neil said, according to <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/1965984\/meghan-markle-tina-brown-vanity-fair\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">The Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_Truth-Power-and-the-Press-SXSW-London-2025-Conference-Day-Two.jpg\" alt=\" Tina Brown speaks onstage \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Tina Brown, who is thought to have been a friend of Diana&#8217;s (Image: Getty Images for SXSW London)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Tina also aired her views on Prince Harry, who she claimed was &#8220;always going to leave the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/news\/royals\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal Family<\/a> &#8220;. She labelled him a &#8220;very impetuous man&#8221; and said many who worked at the Palace knew he was always going to leave the royal fold.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;He was so fragile, so combustible, he was so unhappy, frankly, in the constraints of the Royal Family,&#8221; she claimed, adding: &#8220;He was terribly impressed by Meghan. He thought that she knew all. She persuaded him that she was the savvy Hollywood wheeler-dealer who could come in and make them stars and all the rest of it. And he just sort of blindly followed her like a child, really.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">However she did have praise for the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/prince-harry\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Duke of Sussex<\/a>, who she reckoned excelled at being a Prince: &#8220;The thing about Harry is he&#8217;s very good at being Prince Harry. And that\u2019s the tragedy of all of this; he is the most talented member of the royal family, without doubt, in terms of being a prince, which is all he does know how to do. He\u2019s really sort of flawless at it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It&#8217;s not the first time Tina has aired her thoughts on Meghan and Harry. She has previously said she doesn&#8217;t think Diana would have approved of the couple leaving the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/royal-family\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Royal family<\/a> because ultimately she supported the monarchy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755418272_33_0_GettyImages-1233756688.jpg\" alt=\"princes harry and william with their backs to each other\" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Tina believes Diana would have wanted Harry to support his brother William <\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;Diana would have been very, very protective of Harry and I believe very anxious about this direction they [he and Meghan] have taken,&#8221; she told the Daily Beast in 2022. She also said she didn&#8217;t believe she would have been a fan of her daughter-in-law: &#8220;I think she would have felt Meghan was steering Harry in a direction that was not good.
