Ben Doak<\/a> is set to complete a move to Bournemouth<\/a> early next week, after Liverpool agreed a deal for the Scotland winger worth \u00a325 million.<\/b><\/p>\n

Doak was left out of Liverpool\u2019s matchday squad for the Premier League<\/a> opener on Friday night as talks progressed between the champions and their opponents.<\/p>\n

This Is Anfield understands a deal worth in the region of \u00a325 million has now been agreed and Doak will undergo a medical with the Cherries.<\/p>\n

Upon completing his medical the teenager will sign a long-term contract with Bournemouth<\/a> as their replacement for Dango Ouattara, who joined Brentford<\/a> for \u00a342.5 million on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Bournemouth<\/a> moved ahead of a number of other sides in their pursuit of the 19-year-old after indicating they were willing to offer close to his asking price.<\/p>\n

It continues a busy summer of business for Liverpool with Doak the eighth player sold, bringing the total raised to \u00a3216 million.<\/p>\n

His will be the 15th-most expensive sale in the club\u2019s history and represent a major profit on the \u00a3600,000 paid to sign him from Celtic in 2022.<\/p>\n

Crucially it will be classed as pure profit on Liverpool\u2019s accounts, further improving their situation when it comes to the Premier League<\/a>\u2018s profit and sustainability rules.<\/p>\n

That was also the case with the sales of Jarell Quansah<\/a> to Bayer Leverkusen<\/a> (\u00a335m), Caoimhin Kelleher<\/a> to Brentford<\/a> (\u00a318m), Trent Alexander-Arnold<\/a> to Real Madrid<\/a> (\u00a38.4m) and Nat Phillips<\/a> to West Brom<\/a> (\u00a33m).<\/p>\n

While Doak has long been regarded one of the most talented players in Liverpool\u2019s academy ranks, his pathway to the first team has been blocked by the longevity of Mohamed Salah<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A lack of opportunities prompted him to join Middlesbrough<\/a> on a season-long loan last summer, and despite thigh surgery ending his campaign early he shone with three goals and seven assists in 24 appearances.<\/p>\n

Arne Slot<\/a> used Doak regularly throughout pre-season, with only Salah, Cody Gakpo<\/a> and Rio Ngumoha<\/a> clocking more minutes among Liverpool\u2019s forwards.<\/p>\n

But both Liverpool and their No. 50 were always open to offers as the landscape around his future was clear, with more chance of establishing himself as a first-choice starter elsewhere.<\/p>\n
