Scott McTominay has scored yet another crucial goal for Napoli in their bid to win the 2024\/25 Scudetto. The Scotland international arrived in Italy last summer with seven-year stint at Old Trafford<\/a> coming to an end as a result.<\/p>\n During his final few years with United, having consistently contributed in the attacking third for his national team, McTominay became a huge goal threat and that has only furthered increased since joining Napoli.<\/a><\/p>\n With Romelu Lukaku also very much among the goals, Antonio Conte’s side are firmly in the race for the title. Prior to their trip to Monza, Inter were leading the way by three points but that gap was reduced to zero as McTominay grabbed the winner.<\/p>\n In the 72nd minute, Giacomo Raspadori’s cross found McTominay in the box and he glanced a header over the on-rushing Stefano Turati and into an empty net.<\/p>\n Following that decisive strike, McTominay is now into double figures for the season with the 28-year-old grabbing a brace in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Empoli<\/a>. Inter can regain their advantage however, when they face fifth-placed Bologna on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n Capable of making those late runs into the box, McTominay could have been perfect as a No.10 in Ruben Amorim’s system alongside a more dynamic attacker.<\/p>\n And Gary Lineker is certainly of the belief he would thrive in a back five system.<\/a> “McTominay is exactly the player, I would say, that would work in an Amorim system.
