A fire which destroyed a caravan at the Downs in Bristol is believed to have been started deliberately.<\/p>\n

Avon Fire and Rescue<\/a> Service were called to Parry’s Lane near Clifton<\/a> Down following reports of a caravan blaze.<\/p>\n

The BBC<\/a> reports that the incident happened on Saturday (August 16)<\/a>. Avon Fire and Rescue told BristolLive the incident occurred during the evening.<\/p>\n

Three fire engines attended from Southmead<\/a>, Hicks Gate and Temple Back fire stations.<\/p>\n

Crews quickly got to work to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet. A cordon was in place for safety while crews attended.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the fire service said the cause of the caravan fire is deemed to be deliberate ignition and it has now been passed on to police for investigation. Cordon has now been lifted.<\/p>\n

The spokesperson said: “Three fire engines from Southmead, Hicks Gate and Temple Back attended a fire on Parry’s Lane on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“They used a hose reel jet to put out the fire. A cordon was in place for safety while crews attended. The cause is deemed to be deliberate ignition, police have now taken it on.
