I guess they were given somewhere else, but they were told they had to move,\u201d a source claimed to the outlet. \u201cThey were not expecting it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose houses are very close to the lodge, so they\u2019re not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there,\u201d the source added.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the families were tenants of the Crown Estate. They weren\u2019t given eviction notices and they have since moved to similar or better housing elsewhere in the area.<\/p>\n<p>William and Kate, both 43, are hoping for \u201ca fresh start\u201d at Fort Lodge and are paying for the move at no extra cost to taxpayers, per the report.<\/p>\n<p>The property is said to be the \u201cforever home\u201d of William, Kate and their children \u2014 Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7. princeandprincessofwales\/Instagram<\/p>\n<p>The family currently resides in Adelaide Cottage, located near Windsor Castle in Berkshire, England. They moved there in 2022 to be close to the children\u2019s Lambrook School.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince and Princess of Wales will make the move to their new home later this year, a spokesperson confirmed to Page Six on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The Sun reported that Fort Lodge is worth approximately $21 million, and that the family was looking for a new environment after <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2025\/01\/14\/royal-family\/kate-middleton-reveals-she-is-in-remission-from-cancer-after-surprise-hospital-visit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Kate\u2019s cancer battle<\/a> made for a rough couple of years at Adelaide Cottage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWindsor has become their home,\u201d a source told the outlet of William and Kate\u2019s reasoning for wanting to stay in the same neighborhood.<\/p>\n<p>The family is reportedly looking for a \u201cfresh start\u201d after Kate\u2019s tough cancer battle.
