A man has been tased then arrested in Edinburgh near the Union Canal.<\/a><\/p>\n

Officers from Police Scotland were called to reports of a disturbance at around 1.45pm on Sunday,<\/a> August 17 and a 47-year-old man was arrested in connection with an incident.<\/p>\n

Photos from the scene show multiple police vehicles. In one image, seven cops can be seen surrounding a man.<\/a><\/p>\n

A taser was discharged during the incident<\/a> and as per standard procedure the incident will be referred to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson told Edinburgh Live:<\/a> \u201cAround 1.45pm on Sunday, 17 August, 2025, we received a report of a disturbance near to Union Canal in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n

“A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and enquiries remain ongoing.<\/p>\n

“A taser was discharged during this incident.
