High-speed weekend in Germany ends on a high for the Swiss SailGP Team

\nThe Germany Sail Grand Prix delivered some of the most extreme racing conditions of the Season so far, with the Swiss SailGP Team battling through a weekend of high-speed, high-stakes action on the Baltic Sea.<\/strong> \n<\/p>\n


\nDay one saw teams take on a new F50 configuration featuring 18-meter (small) wings, high-speed rudders, and titanium foils – a setup that produced fast and furious racing – and saw the Swiss enter the ‘100 km\/h club’. \n<\/p>\n


\nFor Switzerland, the weekend ended on a high with a race victory in the seventh and final fleet race. It was a strong finish that lifted spirits despite a challenging overall result of ninth place. The French, British and Australians made the three-team final, with the French taking their first event win of the Season. After eight events, the Swiss SailGP Team remains seventh overall in the Rolex SailGP 2025 Season Championship. \n<\/p>\n


\nWing Trimmer Arnaud Psarofaghis said: “It was an intense weekend with some of the toughest racing we’ve had all season. There’s still a lot to learn and areas where we can improve but we made good steps forward in our boat handling. Coming away with a race win in those conditions shows the progress we’re making and gives us confidence for what’s ahead. Now we’re looking forward to Saint-Tropez in three weeks time – and aiming to get back on the podium.” \n<\/p>\n


\nDriver S\u00e9bastien Schneiter reflected: “All weekend in Sassnitz we enjoyed fantastic foiling conditions and dynamic racing. The key was staying calm, reading the wind, and choosing our lanes carefully. It was a challenging weekend at times, but there’s a lot to learn from the past two days. Fighting our way through the fleet and finishing with a race victory was really encouraging and it’s great to end our time in Germany on a high.” \n<\/p>\n


\nNext up for the team is the ROCKWOOL France Sail Grand Prix, taking place 12 – 13 September. But the real countdown is on – in just one month, SailGP will make its Swiss debut with the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix on Lake Geneva, 20 – 21 September. \n<\/p>\n
