Catherine Zeta-Jones<\/a> has opened up about her decades-long relationship with Hollywood<\/a> icon Michael Douglas<\/a>, following reports that their romance was \u201crocky.\u201d The Welsh actress made the fresh admission while promoting the second season of Netflix<\/a>\u2019s Wednesday<\/a>, in which she portrays the feisty family matriarch Morticia Adams. The 55-year-old made a heart-warming admission about her personal life and revealed that she\u2019s \u201chappier than ever,\u201d as she shared that her relationship with Michael is \u201cin a really good place\u201d.<\/p>\n

Catherine even joked that her 24-year marriage has surpassed expectations and lasted longer than most in the industry, not known for marital stability. The star remarked: \u201cIt’s a joy, it’s a milestone, especially in this industry. And we haven’t tried to kill each other. I’m sure he’s tried\u2026 but he’s never succeeded.\u201d This defies rumours that Catherine and Michael were having major marital problems; they were seen seemingly having a heated public argument at the Red Sea International Film Festival.<\/p>\n

The Basic Instinct star was spotted pointing his finger accusingly at his wife on the red carpet.<\/p>\n

As Catherine, who appeared exasperated by the interaction, dramatically gestured back to her husband, insiders suggested that their union was in trouble.<\/p>\n

According to the MailOnline<\/a>, a producer claimed: \u201cPeople were taking bets on when they would break up. They’ve always been incredibly volatile. You’d see them having heated words on the red carpet and at Hollywood<\/a> events.”<\/p>\n

The Hollywood<\/a> couple, who tied the knot one year after their introduction in 1998, had been married for 14 years when they announced their separation.<\/p>\n

In August 2013, a source told People that the stress, between Michael\u2019s cancer battle and Catherine’s struggles with her bipolar II disorder, had taken a toll on their marriage<\/p>\n

At the time, the pair had not been photographed together for four months prior to the announcement.<\/p>\n

One month later, during the Deauville Film Festival, the Fatal Attraction actor shared that he and Catherine were \u201cworking things out.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the relationship update, he said: \u201cWe’re working things out, talking, and we’ll see how she goes.” The star also won an award that evening, and in his speech, he mentioned, \u201cI want to thank my wife, Catherine, for her support.\u201d<\/p>\n

By April 2014, the couple who share two children, a daughter, Carys and a son, Dylan, made their first public appearance together after their separation was announced and attended the 14th annual Monte Cristo Awards.<\/p>\n

A year later, the 80-year-old addressed their reconciliation and in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, he divulged: \u201cI’m crazy about her. I think every couple has their difficult times.
