{"id":353375,"date":"2025-08-18T05:02:18","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T05:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/353375\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T05:02:18","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T05:02:18","slug":"i-want-to-be-one-of-the-best-players-in-the-world-says-loan-star-mikey-moore-as-jayden-meghoma-joins-him-at-rangers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/353375\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;I want to be one of the best players in the world,&#8217; says loan star Mikey Moore as Jayden Meghoma joins him at Rangers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"author-section byline-plain\">By GARY KEOWN <\/p>\n<p class=\"byline-section\"> Published:  16:36 EDT, 17 August 2025   |  Updated:  16:37 EDT, 17 August 2025   <\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Mikey Moore insists he sees his season-long loan at <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/rangers\/index.html\" id=\"mol-de92d6a0-7ba9-11f0-8156-0dfe560cf7ab\" rel=\"noopener\">Rangers<\/a> as a platform to help him become one of the best players in world football.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The 18-year-old winger signed a new long-term contract at <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/tottenham-hotspur\/index.html\" id=\"mol-de940f20-7ba9-11f0-8156-0dfe560cf7ab\" rel=\"noopener\">Tottenham<\/a> Hotspur shortly after agreeing his move across the border and made his debut for the Ibrox outfit in their 4-2 home win over Alloa in the Premier Sports Cup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Moore started brightly, setting up Nedim Bajrami for the opening goal, and showed flashes of his ability before being replaced by Thelo Aasgaard on 69 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He promises there is far more to come, though, and has set his sights high when addressing how big an incentive it is to show he can go on to become a bona-fide English <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/premierleague\/index.html\" id=\"mol-dea01d10-7ba9-11f0-8156-0dfe560cf7ab\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> player.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018It\u2019s massive for me,\u2019 said Moore, who has been joined at Rangers by his England Under-19 team-mate Jayden Meghoma after he completed a loan move from <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/sport\/brentford\/index.html\" id=\"mol-de8f5430-7ba9-11f0-8156-0dfe560cf7ab\" rel=\"noopener\">Brentford<\/a>. \u2018I want to go and play in the biggest competitions and I want to be one of the best players in the world, hopefully.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018I\u2019ve signed a new contract at Spurs, but, at the minute, I\u2019m focused on playing here. I can\u2019t wait.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Moore made five outings for Spurs in the group stage of the Europa League last season, but missed out on the 1-1 group stage draw with Rangers at Ibrox because of illness. He then watched from the bench as the London club went on to win the tournament under former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He hopes those experiences under his belt will help him kick on in UEFA competition for Rangers this term.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018It was a really good season in Europe for me and for the team, so I\u2019ve had some good experiences and I\u2019m ready to go and show more,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018I want to go and make more of an impact on a European stage.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Meanwhile, new arrival Meghoma declared himself \u2018hungry and excited\u2019 to get going at Ibrox after being reunited with manager Russell Martin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">The 19-year-old left-back has joined Rangers on loan in a deal which paves the way for Jefte to complete an anticipated move back to Brazil to sign for Palmeiras.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Meghoma made his first-team debut for Southampton under Martin, making four cup appearances in all before signing for Brentford last summer. He has also made four appearances for the Bees and spent the second half of last season on loan at Preston.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">He told the Rangers website: \u2018I am very excited to be here, it is a fantastic club and I know a lot about the rich history of Rangers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018When the deal was presented to me, I thought straight away that it would be a fantastic opportunity for myself and my family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018The main thing for me is getting results. Rangers is a big club and I am ready, I am hungry and excited to get going.\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Ibrox head coach Martin added: \u2018I am really pleased to welcome Jayden to Rangers. I have worked with him before and I know exactly what he brings. He is a young player with big potential, real athleticism and a great attitude.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">\u2018He is hungry to learn and improve and I\u2019m confident he\u2019ll thrive in this environment.
