It features a curved bench, steel-meshed umbrella sculptures, and a winding pathway with plants chosen for their calming effect.<\/p>\n
Prof Jones said the garden “offers a quiet place for reflection and escape, and it celebrates both the incredible diversity of plant life and the unique strengths of neurodivergent minds”. <\/p>\n
Originally exhibited at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where it earned a Silver-Gilt Medal, it is now a permanent fixture at the university campus.<\/p>\n
Designer Katy Terry said the garden was inspired by her own ADHD diagnosis.<\/p>\n
“It’s been enlightening to discover and explore how my mind, like many others, works differently,” she said.<\/p>\n
“I hope this space provides neurodiverse individuals with a moment of calm and the freedom to be themselves.”<\/p>\n
She said the university space was “the perfect legacy location” and would “serve students and visitors with a pocket of peace”. <\/p>\n
