{"id":353657,"date":"2025-08-18T07:40:12","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T07:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/353657\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T07:40:12","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T07:40:12","slug":"european-shares-flat-as-investors-await-ukraine-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/353657\/","title":{"rendered":"European shares flat as investors await Ukraine talks"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">(Reuters) -European shares were little changed in early trade on Monday, with investors on the watch for Ukraine and European leaders&#8217; meeting with U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/people\/donald-trump\/\" data-ylk=\"slk:President Donald Trump;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">President Donald Trump<\/a>, following a Russia-U.S. summit that ended without an immediate agreement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">The pan-European STOXX 600 index were flat, as of 0704 GMT, after logging a second straight weekly gain on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Ukraine&#8217;s Volodymyr Zelenskiy will meet Trump along with other European leaders in a bid to draw out a peace deal that will not favour Moscow.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Trump met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Friday and agreed that a peace deal should be worked upon without a ceasefire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Novo Nordisk added 4.1% after the drugmaker&#8217; s weight-loss drug Wegovy received an accelerated approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat a serious liver condition.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1090901\">Vestas shares jumped 9.7% and ranked among the top gainer on the STOXX 600 after IRS safe harbor guidelines.
