The body of a woman was recovered from a reservoir in Greater Manchester yesterday.<\/p>\n

Emergency services attended Strinesdale Reservoir, situated on the A62 between Oldham<\/a> and Delph, at around 4pm after reports of a woman ‘getting into difficulty’ in the water.<\/a><\/p>\n

A rescue operation was launched<\/a> with the area, off Waterworks Road, being sealed off.<\/p>\n

The fire service’s specialist water incident unit was drafted in.<\/p>\n

Sadly, a woman’s body was later recovered, at around 6.25pm, Greater Manchester Police<\/a> confirmed in an update shared this morning (Monday).<\/p>\n

“Emergency services responded to an incident at Strinesdale Reservoir at around 4:50pm yesterday (Sunday 17 August 2025) after reports of a woman getting into difficulty in the water,” a force spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

“Sadly, the body of a woman was recovered.<\/p>\n

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.”<\/p>\n

No further details about the woman or the circumstances have yet been disclosed.<\/p>\n
