Kerry Katona has weighed in on her best friend Katie Price’s current drama surrounding her daughter Princess Andre’s new ITV show, The Princess Diaries.<\/p>\n

Katie Price has been at the top of the headlines in recent weeks since her daughter Princess took to the small screen with a new ITV<\/a> show, something Katie claims she was cut out of by ex-husband Peter Andre<\/a> and his management. And now, Katie’s best friend Kerry Katona<\/a> has weighed in on the drama with her opinion.<\/p>\n

Supporting Katie in her weekly New! Magazine column, the former singer spoke about Katie’s ex-husband Kieran Hayler and the public he made to Princess last week.<\/a> On the show, The Princess Diaries, Princess opened up about tough times in her childhood and admitted it was hard seeing her mum split from Kieran – who had become a big part of her life.<\/p>\n

Kieran then spoke out with an apology to Princess, sharing to the Daily Mail: “I am as sorry as I can be to Princess witnessing us go through such a horrible separation. Leaving them was one of the hardest things I ever had to do.” Kieran suggested that he “would love to apologise” to her in person. It comes after Princess said she’s ‘independent’ from parents as she broke her silence on the alleged row<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kieran said that the breakdown of a marriage and a parent leaving the house “rocks” the world<\/a> of any children involved. He said that as much as the split from Katie impacted the adults involved, it “disrupted” and “affected” the kids.<\/p>\n

Giving her thoughts on the situation, Kerry – who has been friends with Katie for over two decades – said: “There\u2019s been a lot of drama surrounding my friend Katie Price<\/a> and her daughter Princess Andre, which is never nice to see. Princess said in her show The Princess Diaries that she had a really difficult time when her mum split up with Kieran Hayler and Kieran has since issued a public apology.<\/p>\n

“I think it\u2019s good that he has apologised \u2013 he bloody well should have! There\u2019s a lot people don\u2019t see behind closed doors and it\u2019s not my business, but Kieran definitely owed Princess and Junior an apology.”<\/p>\n

Kieran isn’t the only one of Katie’s exes to speak out this week, with Peter Andre releasing a public statement after Katie claimed their children; Princess and Junior, live with her full time – amongst other claims against Peter.<\/p>\n

Taking to Instagram<\/a>, Peter, who has remained silent on his former marriage over the years, wrote: “For 16 years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

“The latest comments about my children\u2019s welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement.\u201d He added, \u201cI have never made this public before, out of respect for my children.\u201d<\/p>\n

He went on to state that the courts found Katie \u201chad made false claims\u201d on two separate occasions, in 2011 and 2015, and that \u201cshe was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise to me and my management\u201d.<\/p>\n

In a parting shot, Peter implied this was just the start of his fight-back, writing that her \u201cbaseless accusations\u201d would be \u201cdealt with in the coming months\u201d.<\/p>\n
