{"id":35389,"date":"2025-04-20T10:49:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-20T10:49:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/35389\/"},"modified":"2025-04-20T10:49:17","modified_gmt":"2025-04-20T10:49:17","slug":"bristols-best-garden-centre-named-as-south-bristol-location-with-beloved-cafe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/35389\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol&#8217;s best garden centre named as South Bristol location with beloved caf\u00e9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Opened in 1987, it offers panoramic views of the city<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/2_riversidePNG.png\" alt=\"Riverside Garden Centre in Bristol\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Riverside Garden Centre is located in Southville, Bristol(Image: Google Street View)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">A garden centre in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/southville\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Southville <\/a>has been named the best in the city by our readers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Earlier this month, we asked you to vote for what you felt was the top garden centre in Bristol &#8211; and now Riverside Garden Centre has been crowned the winner.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Opened in 1987, Riverside aims to create a \u201cunique destination offering a wide range of high quality plants and products\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In addition to its popular caf\u00e9 and selection of seeds, plants, and gardening items, the centre is run as a social enterprise and engages with the wider Bristol community \u201cby supporting and initiating projects and working with a number of local charities\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The vegetarian caf\u00e9 has a play area for children and outdoor seating for the summer months, and also offers gluten-free and vegan options.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It serves organic fair-trade coffee, tea, cold drinks, cakes, and a breakfast and lunch menu &#8211; with children\u2019s meals, too. Menu items include quiche, jacket potato, and soup, while breakfast offerings include beans on toast and a Quorn sausage bap.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1745113689_236_consent-placeholder.svg.svg+xml\" alt=\"\" height=\"90px\" loading=\"lazy\"\/>Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Riverside explains on its website that the centre &#8220;enjoys a wonderful setting with panoramic views of the iconic <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/clifton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Clifton<\/a> Suspension Bridge, the city docks and the Bristol skyline beyond&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">It adds: &#8220;Our distinctive architecture &#8211; in particular our &#8216;Shade House&#8217; &#8211; has won awards. The garden centre is easily accessed from the local road system and has ample parking for cars and bicycles.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Riverside Garden Centre has 4.6 stars out of 5 on Google after 1,200 reviews. One visitor wrote: \u201cGreat selection of everything gardening. Not only that but they have a lovely caf\u00e9 which serves great veggie food. I have had some tasty sweet treats from there. And their savoury food is healthy, yummy and filling!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Another commented that there was a \u201cgood variety of plants, indoor and out\u201d, and praised the \u201cvery friendly staff\u201d. They said: \u201cThe caf\u00e9 here is lovely, providing decaf options, and alternatives to milk. The decaf latte and flat white were some of the nicest coffees we&#8217;ve had. Good selection of cakes and cold drinks. Plenty of parking for a small space. The toilets are very clean and easily accessible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">In November, we revealed that <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/bristols-best-sunday-roast-winner-9672703\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">a pub in Bristol city centre serves the city&#8217;s best Sunday roast <\/a>, according to our readers. After more than 700 votes were cast, The Famous Royal Navy Volunteer on King Street was the clear winner after receiving 310 votes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">We have also found out <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/bristols-best-greasy-spoon-announced-9696878\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">where the city&#8217;s best greasy spoon is <\/a>. After nearly a thousand votes were cast, Abbots Kitchen on Dundry Road, in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/whitchurch\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Whitchurch <\/a>, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/south-bristol\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">South Bristol <\/a>, became the winner after receiving 432 votes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">We also asked our readers to recommend the best fish and chip shop in Bristol and, after <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/bristols-best-fish-chips-kingswood-9753162\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">just over a thousand votes were cast <\/a>, Marios Fish Bar on Pool Road, <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/all-about\/kingswood\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Kingswood <\/a>, was the clear winner after receiving 586 votes. Furthermore, we have found <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/bristols-best-chinese-announced-south-9870114\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">a takeaway in South Bristol serves the best Chinese food <\/a>in the city, according to our readers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">And, lastly, earlier this month we found a pub in East Bristol serves the city&#8217;s best pizza.
