A Germany international suggests that he had no interest in leaving a Bundesliga club for Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.<\/p>\n

Stuttgart<\/strong><\/a> attacker Jamie Leweling<\/strong><\/a> has suggested that he had no interest in signing for Nottingham Forest<\/strong><\/a> this summer.<\/p>\n

Last week, it was reported that the Premier League outfit had submitted an offer in the region of \u00a321m in an attempt to sign the Germany international.<\/p>\n

Despite that bid being proposed, the indication was that Stuttgart quickly made the decision to reject the offer and stress that they intended to retain the 24-year-old’s services this summer.<\/p>\n

Forest have since announced<\/a> that they have acquired the services of Manchester City playmaker James McAtee<\/strong><\/a> and Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

As a result, attempting to acquire another attack-minded player before the September 1 deadline appears to be unlikely, yet Leweling has indicated that it does not bother him.<\/p>\n

Leweling blunt on Forest links<\/p>\n

Speaking to SWR Sport<\/a>, Leweling gave a blunt response when quizzed on whether he was disappointed not to have at least held discussions with Forest in recent days.<\/p>\n

In response, Leweling said:\u00a0\u201cNo, that\u2019s why I\u2019m sitting here.\u201d<\/p>\n

He would add: “I always tell my agents to keep things like that far away from me. That\u2019s why I don\u2019t have much to do with what the clubs and agents do among themselves.<\/p>\n

I want to play football, I want to score goals, and the rest will follow eventually.”<\/p>\n

Can Leweling expect more Premier League clubs to show an interest?<\/p>\n

Having scored for Germany on his debut against Netherlands in October, Leweling put himself on the radar of bigger clubs that may not have been considering him before his senior international selection.<\/p>\n

While he has since only made one more appearance for his country, the versatile wide player chipped in with two goals and one assist from five Champions League outings in 2024-25.<\/p>\n

That said, any admirers in his qualities may be more attracted to his versatility on both flanks than his numbers, with only two goals and three assists coming from 27 outings in last season’s Bundesliga.<\/p>\n

As such, it feels unlikely that clubs above Forest’s level would express an interest at this point in time, particularly for the level of fee that Stuttgart will demand for a player who has four years left on his contract.<\/p>\n
