Inter Milan have reportedly shifted priorities to central midfield, with Roma\u2019s Manu Kone still a major target.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This according to today\u2019s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With less than two weeks to go in the transfer window, Inter<\/a> are still juggling a few different tasks to complete their squad.<\/p>\n

For over a month, Inter<\/a> have been trying to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman. However, that has still come to nothing, with Atalanta\u2019s resolve never breaking.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri<\/a> also reportedly made an offer for Roma midfielder Manu Kone<\/a>. However, the Giallorossi rejected this bid.<\/p>\n

Inter Prioritize Central Midfield \u2013 Manu Kone Still A Target<\/p>\n

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, though, Inter<\/a> have rethought their priorities.<\/p>\n

Instead of going all-in on an attacking signing, the Nerazzurri<\/a> want to sign a midfielder before the transfer window closes.<\/p>\n

After a few weeks in preseason, it has become clear that Inter<\/a> need a holding midfielder.<\/p>\n

Coach Cristian Chivu needs a player who can do a bit of everything, from tackling and intercepting the ball to keeping possession and driving up the pitch.<\/p>\n

Roma\u2019s Kone has emerged as the target who best represents what Chivu wants.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Inter<\/a> still consider the Frenchman a target. Roma could sell him reluctantly, in order to finance other signings.<\/p>\n

And considering that Kone is 24 years of age, Inter<\/a> would be willing to tack a few million more onto their \u20ac45 million offer.<\/p>\n

Then, if it is not Kone who arrives, Inter<\/a> will target a different midfielder, reports the Corriere.<\/p>\n
