Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo<\/a> has received a response from Carlos Baleba<\/a> on social media.<\/p>\n

United <\/a>are reportedly interested in a swoop for Baleba this summer<\/a>, as they aim to boost up their midfield before the transfer window shuts on September 1. The Seagulls reportedly value their midfielder at over \u00a3100million, with some reports hinting at a price tag closer to \u00a3120million.<\/p>\n

However, a recent report in The Athletic<\/a> suggested that United have now ‘ceased’ their pursuit for Baleba for this summer. Despite that, the midfielder continues to be linked with a high-profile move to Old Trafford<\/a>, although any potential transfer is unlikely to materialise until next year.<\/p>\n

Baleba’s compatriot, Mbeumo, made a positive impression in his first appearance for United during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford. “It’s not the start we wanted but we stay positive for the next one,” he said on Instagram<\/a> in reaction to the game.<\/p>\n

“Thank you for the huge support today from the start til the end. You deserved so much more today.”<\/p>\n

And Mbeumo’s post received a ‘like’ from Baleba, indicating at least the two players have a positive relationship. Despite the swirling rumours around his future, Baleba was included in the starting line-up for Brighton’s Premier League<\/a> opener against Fulham, which ended in a 1-1 draw.<\/p>\n

Following that match, the 21-year-old took to social media to share a series of photos with the caption: “Just me doing the thing I love most.<\/p>\n

“Had fun playing at home with the boys. Nothing new here, just my number and a haircut.”<\/p>\n

Baleba’s caption seems to be a nod to remarks made by Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler prior to the match – when questioned about the midfielder’s future. When asked if he believes that Baleba will stay put at Brighton, their head coach responded: “I am very, very confident.<\/p>\n

“I didn’t see any change, he’s only changed his hair. I think that’s the change he’s made in the last two weeks. But overall, he seems to be in a really good place, he’s enjoying it with his teammates, he’s enjoying being a Brighton player. I didn’t see any big changes and he’s an option to start.”<\/p>\n
