Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not the signing Birmingham City need as they look to launch a Championship promotion bid.<\/strong><\/p>\n

After winning promotion from League One last season, Blues have their sights set on a long-awaited Premier League<\/a> return.<\/p>\n

Amid their efforts to seal a second consecutive promotion, Chris Davies\u2019 side have signed players like Germany international Marvin Ducksch and former Celtic star Kyogo Furuhashi.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Birmingham have sold Emmanuel Longelo to Motherwell<\/a>, and the defender has gone on to score in the Scottish Premiership.<\/p>\n

As they look to win promotion to the Premier League, Birmingham drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town<\/a> in their first Championship game of the season on 8 August.<\/p>\n

The West Midlands club went on to defeat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 on Saturday, 16 August, thanks to Lyndon Dykes\u2019 late winner.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, after landing ambitious moves for players like Demarai Gray, Davies\u2019 side have set their sights on Oxlade-Chamberlain, as reported by Sky Sports<\/a> on Monday, 18 August.<\/p>\n

Even though the 32-year-old has bags of Premier League experience, thanks to his time with both Liverpool and Arsenal, he would not be a good acquisition for Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Davies should be concerned by Oxlade-Chamberlain\u2019s historic injury record<\/a>, even though the former England midfielder attracted interest from Leeds earlier this summer.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Blues have done well from acquiring young talents such as Jay Stansfield and Ethan Laird, so the former Arsenal man may not suit Davies\u2019 mold.<\/p>\n

Oxlade-Chamberlain would struggle for game time with Blues<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oxlade-Chamberlain\u2019s exploits with his current club don\u2019t suggest he is capable of earning game time in the Championship over talented midfielders like Tomoki Iwata, Seung-Ho Paik, and summer signing Tommy Doyle.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the Southampton academy graduate could have high wage demands, courtesy of his time with Liverpool<\/a> and Arsenal.<\/p>\n

Davies\u2019 side will fancy their chances of adding another three points to their tally when they host Oxford United on Saturday, 23 August.<\/p>\n

Contrastingly, Oxlade-Chamberlain may not have what it takes to help an ambitious Birmingham outfit win promotion to the Premier League for the first time since suffering relegation from the top flight back in 2011.<\/p>\n

Blues are set for a largely successful campaign, but Oxlade-Chamberlain\u2019s unnecessary arrival could thwart their momentum.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
