While they\u2019re reportedly no longer on speaking terms, the pair\u2019s inseparable friendship was even more close-knit than many royal fans knew, according to a former royal butler. In addition to hanging out with Prince William, Kate and Harry reportedly also spent time separately doing everything from running errands to hitting the pub together.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_4-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> In an excerpt from The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service shared with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/royal-family\/2025\/08\/18\/royal-butler-grant-harrold-charles-william-harry\/\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Telegraph<\/a> on Monday, August 18, Grant Harrold\u2014who spent seven years as the princes\u2019 butler in Highgrove\u2014revealed that Kate and Harry would spend time together when William was busy with his king-to-be duties. \u201cHe used to go out with Kate. Chelsy was always around. And Chelsy and Kate got on really well.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_9-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\"> Harrold also recalled seeing Prince Harry and Prince Williams\u2019 \u201cclose\u201d relationship in action during those years, sharing, \u201cThe banter was great. They used to go around being silly with each other and winding each other up, jumping out at their dad from corners and making him laugh.
