Arne Slot insists winning the Premier League is still the ultimate achievement. The Liverpool<\/a> boss accepts that pundits can have an opinion on whether the standard of the top-flight in England has fallen during a season which has seen his team turn the title race into a procession.<\/p>\n But the Dutchman is adamant that after a week which saw second-placed Arsenal<\/a> knock European champions Real Madrid<\/a> out of the Champions League<\/a> and Aston Villa<\/a> push Paris-Saint Germain to their limits, the Premier League<\/a> remains the best in the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n Liverpool could be crowned champions when they travel to Leicester<\/a> – and Slot said: \u201cThe nice part of a pundit\u2019s job is that you can write about something in two ways – positive or negative.<\/p>\n \u201cIf everyone had the same opinion, it would be quite boring. But Arsenal don\u2019t have to win the Champions League just for us all to be sure that the Premier League is by far the best league and the most difficult league in the world.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t even think anyone can even debate that. Is it stronger than the season before or two or three seasons before? They deserved it. That could be an example of saying \u2018yes, the Premier League is really good at the moment.\u2019<\/p>\n Liverpool have lost just two of their 32 league games this season to turn the title race into a procession. After seeing Pep Guardiola<\/a> go head-to-head with Jurgen Klopp<\/a> and Mikel Arteta<\/a> in recent seasons, the prospect of any late dramas has long diminished as they opened up a 12-point gap.<\/p>\n But Slot said: \u201cOthers could come up with reasons why the Premier League isn\u2019t as good as it was last season or the season before. The amount of points could be an argument. City, a few years ago, got 100 points and then Liverpool had 99. Was that the best Premier League there ever was or was it too easy for Liverpool and Man City to win their games?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou can look at things whichever way you want. But I don\u2019t care how other people look at it. The only thing I care about is the league table. I like to look at it at the moment – and I hope I can still like to look at it in one, two, three, four, five or six games.<\/p>\n \u201cI can give you examples from almost every game we’ve played. Wolves<\/a> at home, even Southampton<\/a> at home, Plymouth away, who are not even at Premier League level.<\/p>\n \u201c West Ham<\/a>, I don’t know where they are in the league at the moment, but they have players who could play for us. You don’t see that in the Italian league, you don’t see this in the Spanish league, you don’t see this in the Eredivisie.
