\n Speedster Umran Malik eyes a comeback, aims to don the India jersey again.

India and Jammu & Kashmir pacer Umran Malik is optimistic about making his much-anticipated return to competitive cricket in the Buchi Babu tournament which began here on Monday.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old, known for his fiery pace and ability to clock more than 150kph, has been out of action since IPL 2024. He has endured a difficult phase with a series of setbacks. <\/p>\n
Umran first suffered a hamstring injury, followed by dengue, and later underwent hip surgery. Since then, he has been undergoing extensive rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru. <\/p>\n
Speaking ahead of his potential return in his side\u2019s next game against Baroda, Umran expressed confidence about getting match-fit. \u201cFirstly, it feels great to be back on the field. The more matches I play, the better it is, especially in terms of getting my body used to the workload again,\u201d said the pacer. <\/p>\n
Reflecting on his rehabilitation, he added, \u201cI was undergoing rehab at the NCA. I kept things simple to recover quickly. I want to thank Nishant bhai, Tulsi sir, and Suresh sir for their guidance and support during that time. I\u2019m also grateful to V.V.S. Laxman sir and the BCCI for providing the best facilities at the NCA to aid my recovery.\u201d <\/p>\n
He also acknowledged the support from his coaches, \u201cJKCA has supported me immensely. I\u2019ve been in constant touch with Mithun Manhas, who\u2019s been guiding me. Our head coach, Ajay Sharma, and the JKCA support staff have been very encouraging. A couple of weeks ago, I was in Chennai for a camp with Abhishek Nayar, and I\u2019ve been working on a few variations with him as well.\u201d <\/p>\n
With the domestic season round the corner, Umran is focused on building momentum. \u201cMy immediate goal is to perform well in this tournament and then play in the Ranji Trophy. I hope to take wickets and perform consistently. I want to play for India again,\u201d said the Kolkata Knight Riders pacer.<\/p>\n
