This weekend will see the return of Manchester Pride 2025, a huge celebration of the LGBTQ+ community that takes place across the city centre.<\/p>\n

On Saturday 23 Sunday 24 August, Pride celebrations will be held in Manchester’s Gay Village, Mayfield Depot site and in and around Liverpool Road, Deansgate and Whitworth Street, amongst others.<\/p>\n

Manchester Pride is regarded as one of the biggest LGBTQ+ celebrations in the country and regularly attracts hundreds of thousands of people each year.<\/p>\n

In addition to the popular parade on Saturday, and the Gay Village Party across the weekend, a new Mardi Gras area will host the likes of Olly Alexander, Nelly Furtado, Billy Porter and Leigh-Anne, plus many more. The Gay Village Party meanwhile, will see performances from Samantha Mumba, B*witched, Sister Sledge and Danny Beard.<\/p>\n

To allow the festivities to take place safely, road closures and bus diversion will be in place over the course of the weekend and now Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have issued a warning for anyone travelling in and around the city centre this weekend.<\/p>\n

TfGM is advising against travelling into the city centre by car on Saturday if possible, as roads will be busier than usual and journeys may take much longer.<\/p>\n

They are asking people to consider using public transport or completing journeys using one of Greater Manchester’s park & ride sites. And, they’ve added that if travelling around the city centre on Saturday you may find it quicker to walk.<\/p>\n

On Saturday 23 August, the annual Pride Parade will return to the streets of Manchester city centre<\/a>, celebrating history and culture of the region’s LGBTQ+ communities.<\/p>\n

The Parade will start it’s route at midday beginning at Castlefield Bowl, where it will travel through the city centre via Deansgate, Peter Street, St Peter’s Square, Portland Street and Princess Street, before finishing near Sackville Gardens in the heart of The Village.<\/p>\n

To allow the parade to take place, road closures and bus diversions will be in place in the city centre. Road closures will be in place from 6am on Saturday until 9.30pm later that day, to allow for the set up and build down of the parade.<\/p>\n
