Amir Khan<\/a> has continuously teased a return to the ring over the last few years.<\/p>\n

Khan\u2019s professional career began two decades ago back in 2005 after he claimed a silver medal as a 17-year-old at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.<\/p>\n

He won the WBA light-welterweight title in July 2009, before victories over fighters such as Marcos Maidana, Paulie Malignaggi and Zab Judah led to him adding the IBF belt and becoming unified world champion.<\/p>\n

Knockout defeats to Canelo Alvarez<\/a>, Terence Crawford<\/a> and Danny Garcia then followed, before Khan retired from the sport after he was stopped by long-term rival Kell Brook in February 2022.<\/a><\/p>\n

Despite it being over three years since the Bolton boxer last competed, he has hinted at a comeback on numerous occasions, and has now told Seconds Out that the one man he would return for is Manny Pacquiao<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201c100% I\u2019d take that fight. We are both probably past our best. There\u2019s always been talk about it. That would motivate me to get back in the ring again.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Boxing legend Pacquiao recently returned to the sport himself, as at the age of 46 he had a majority decision draw with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in July.<\/p>\n

Khan and Pacquiao were stablemates at Freddie Roach\u2019s Wild Card Gym for a number of years and so a potential bout between the two would involve an interesting backstory, but it is much more likely that the Filipino will instead either rematch Barrios next, or take on the likes of Gervonta Davis, Rolly Romero or Ryan Garcia.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Amir Khan has continuously teased a return to the ring over the last few years.
