{"id":356821,"date":"2025-08-19T12:49:20","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T12:49:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/356821\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T12:49:20","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T12:49:20","slug":"macron-says-france-its-allies-ready-to-support-ukraine-in-the-air-at-sea-and-on-land","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/356821\/","title":{"rendered":"Macron says France, its allies ready to support Ukraine \u201cin the air, at sea and on land\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>On August 19, French President Emmanuel Macron said that France, along with other Western allies, is prepared to carry out reassurance operations for Ukraine \u201cin the air, at sea and on land,\u201d following high-stakes peace talks in Washington.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Speaking to French broadcaster LCI, Macron stressed that the next two weeks are \u201cabsolutely critical\u201d for defining concrete security guarantees for Ukraine, <strong><a style=\"color: rgb(53, 152, 219);\" href=\"https:\/\/caliber.az\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Caliber.Az<\/a><\/strong> reports <strong><a style=\"color: rgb(53, 152, 219);\" href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.eu\/article\/france-emmanuel-macron-next-15-days-critical-determine-security-guarantees-ukraine-russia-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">per <\/a><\/strong>Politico.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The president emphasised that these operations would not be at the frontline or provocative, but aimed at strengthening Ukraine\u2019s deterrence and ensuring European security.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">What that security guarantee entails is not yet clear, though Macron told LCI that &#8220;the British, French, Germans, Turks and others are ready to carry out operations, not at the frontline, not provocatively, but reassurance operations in the air, at sea and on land.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Macron and several European leaders met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House on August 17, shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
