\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t born into politics,\u201d Cllr Daw said. \u201cI was born into a world where rent eats half your wages, buses don\u2019t run after 6pm, and politicians promise green futures while cutting the roofs off our classrooms. \u00a0\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cI knew I had to fight back. That\u2019s why I\u2019m standing for Deputy Leader \u2013 because our party must now become a home for everyone who feels abandoned.\u201d\u00a0\n <\/p>\n
\n During his campaign, Tom said he has focused on the issues he believes \u201cmatter most\u201d with local campaigners and communities.\u00a0\n <\/p>\n
\n These include making housing a \u201chuman right\u201d, with affordable homes for all, protecting high streets and community spaces from closure, standing up for LGBTQIA+ rights and \u201cwelcoming refugees and challenging intolerance\u201d.\u00a0\n <\/p>\n
\n Since being elected, Cllr Daw has worked on expanding SEND school provision, increasing walking and cycling infrastructure, and \u201cholding Bristol Airport to account for its climate impacts and disruption to local residents\u201d.\u00a0\n <\/p>\n
\n Cllr Daw added: \u201cProtesting isn\u2019t enough anymore \u2013 we need to win. To win, we must show that green is not a luxury \u2013 it\u2019s a lifeline. \u00a0\n <\/p>\n
\n \u201cI\u2019ll fight for housing justice, for inclusive communities, and for a Green Party that is organised and can make a difference rather than just being idealistic.\u201d\u00a0\n <\/p>\n
