A teenage thug who brutally stabbed a boy has been locked up<\/a> for almost five years.<\/p>\n Harvey Hogg attacked the 17 year-old following a confrontation in Caledonian Street, Paisley<\/a> in Renfrewshire on July 14 2023.<\/p>\n The 19-year-old left his victim suffering from a lifelong mobility issue<\/a> after the attack.<\/p>\n Hogg had been convicted<\/a> after a trial in Paisley of assaulting the boy to severe injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment as well as to the danger of his life.<\/p>\n Jurors<\/a> concluded he had been acting under provocation at the time. He was seen running towards you swinging a baseball bat. During a struggle, you stabbed him several times. You chose to go out that day armed with a knife, so there was a degree of planning involved.<\/p>\n “You inflicted two stab wounds on the abdomen and the left groin. The injuries were to the danger of his life. He has suffered from a permanently dropped foot.”<\/p>\n Referring to the guidelines for the sentencing<\/a> of young people, Judge Erroch said the term would have been greater had Hogg been older.<\/p>\n Bob Mitchell, defending<\/a>, today told the court Hogg has “not found custody easy” since being remanded.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_WACOMMUNITYQR3.jpg\")
