Police have arrested and charged two men in connection with a deliberate fire at\u00a0an Edinburgh taxi company.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At around 3am on Monday, August 18, emergency services were called to Capital Cars on Gorgie Road following a fire at the building.<\/p>\n

There was no significant damage or reported injuries. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Two men, aged 25 and 26, have now been charged in connection with the incident and were due to appear at the Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (August 19).\u00a0<\/p>\n

A police spokesperson said: \u201cAround 3am on Monday, August 18, we were made aware of a wilful fire at a premises in Gorgie Road, Edinburgh. Emergency services attended however the fire had not taken hold and there was no significant damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere were no reports of any injuries. Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested and charged in connection. <\/p>\n

\u201cBoth men are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 19.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

A SFRS spokesperson said: \u201cWe were alerted at 3.13am on Monday, August 18 to reports of a building and car fire at the old taxi rank building on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOperations Control mobilised four appliances and one height appliance to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting the front doorway of the building. No casualties were reported, and crews left the scene at 4.30am after ensuring the area was made safe.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
