{"id":357873,"date":"2025-08-19T22:35:14","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T22:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/357873\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T22:35:14","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T22:35:14","slug":"buccherino-impressive-winner-of-the-state-representatives-sprint","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/357873\/","title":{"rendered":"Buccherino Impressive Winner of the State Representative&#8217;s Sprint"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BY BROCK SHERIDAN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/entries-results#searchby=owner&amp;search=happy%20tenth%20stable\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Happy Tenth Stable\u2019s<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/entries-results#searchby=horse&amp;search=buccherino\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Buccherino<\/a> battled with longshot Twisted Ride through the first four-and-a-half furlongs before pulling away at the top of the stretch to win the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equibase.com\/premium\/chartEmb.cfm?track=PRX&amp;raceDate=08\/19\/2025&amp;cy=USA&amp;rn=7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$75,000 State Representative\u2019s Sprint<\/a> at Parx Racing Tuesday. Ridden by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equibase.com\/profiles\/Results.cfm?type=People&amp;searchType=J&amp;eID=127153&amp;rbt=TB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paco Lopez<\/a>, Buccherino was the best of six 4-year-olds and older going six-and-a-half-furlongs.<\/p>\n<p>Twisted Ride and jockey <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equibase.com\/profiles\/Results.cfm?type=People&amp;searchType=J&amp;eID=169519&amp;rbt=TB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Andy Hernandez<\/a> broke on top from post three but were quickly joined by Buccherino who started from post one. Buccherino kept a head in front of Twisted Ride through quarter-mile splits of :22.46 and :45.41 as Caramel Chip tried to get even from third with a three-wide move past the quarter-mile marker.<\/p>\n<p>Buccherino shook off his rivals coming out of the turn then sprinted away to win by two-and-three-quarter lengths in 1:15.43 on the fast track. Caramel Chip finished second by a nose ahead of Twisted Ride in third. Ninetypercentmaddie, Gordian Knot and Scaramouche completed the order of finish.<\/p>\n<p>Buccherino was sent to the post as the 2-5 favorite and paid $2.80 to win.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It was the third win in five starts this year for Buccherino, who is trained by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equibase.com\/profiles\/Results.cfm?type=People&amp;searchType=T&amp;eID=17218&amp;rbt=TB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alfredo Velazquez<\/a>. He began his 2025 campaign on May 5, winning his first two races. He produced a neck victory against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equibase.com\/premium\/chartEmb.cfm?track=PRX&amp;raceDate=05\/05\/2025&amp;cy=USA&amp;rn=8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upper level allowance horses going six furlongs<\/a> at Parx then traveled to Monmouth Park to win the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/buccherino-back-at-150-to-win-mr-prospector-as-heavy-favorite\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$100,000 Mr. Prospector<\/a> by a length, again at six furlongs, on May 26. He was second to Full Moon Madness in the $100,000 Alapocas Run at Delaware Park on June 14 then fourth in the $102,000 Wolf Hill Stakes going five-and-a-half furlongs on the turf on June 19 in his last race before the State Representative\u2019s Sprint.<\/p>\n<p>This is the second stakes victory at Parx for Buccherino, who won last year\u2019s Salvatore M. DeBunda Sprint there in August.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.obfs.com\/obfs-43rd-anniversary-sale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload aligncenter wp-image-24232 size-full\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/47729-OBSF-Anniversary-Sale_1200px.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"240\"  data- data-orig-\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Buccherino improved his career record to seven wins in 15 races with two seconds and three thirds and increased his earnings to $386,600. Happy Tenth Stable bought him out of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.obscatalog.com\/vp\/?slide=\/aprresults\/2023\/&amp;startAt=http:\/\/obscatalog.com\/apr\/2023\/83.mp4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2023 Ocala Breeders\u2019 Sales Spring Sale<\/a> for $75,000 where he was consigned by breeder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/blueriverbloodstock\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Blue River Bloodstock<\/a>. He is by Bucchero out of the winning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/stallion-spotlight-first-dude\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">First Dude<\/a> mare <a href=\"https:\/\/www.equibase.com\/profiles\/Results.cfm?type=Horse&amp;refno=9503390&amp;registry=T&amp;rbt=TB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bellimbusto<\/a>, who was owned by Blue River Bloodstock during her racing career.<\/p>\n<p>Buccherino is the second foal out of Bellimbusto, who has one other starter, a winner, from five foals. She has an unraced 2-year-old filly by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/stallion-spotlight-leinster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leinster, who stands in Florida at Pleasant Acres Stallions<\/a>; an unnamed yearling filly by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/stallion-spotlight-colonel-liam\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ocala Stud stallion Colonel Liam<\/a>; and a weanling filly by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ftboa.com\/florida-stallion-spotlight-verifying-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pleasant Acres Stallion\u2019s Verifying<\/a>.
