\n Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire, the largest advice agency in the area, will be running these sessions every Wednesday at FACE, Elm Park, from 10am to 12pm.\n<\/p>\n
\n This service is made possible through funding from Filton Town Council and will allow residents to seek help on a vast range of issues, including benefits, debt, housing and cost-of-living concerns.\n<\/p>\n
\n Prior to this, residents had to travel to Yate for face-to-face advice.\n<\/p>\n
\n Now, they can receive free, independent and confidential advice from trained advisers right in their locality.\n<\/p>\n
\n There is no need to make an appointment; residents can simply drop in to seek help.\n<\/p>\n
\n Chantal Watts, the chief executive officer at Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire, said: “We\u2019re very pleased to announce a new free advice session for Filton residents beginning in September and we are grateful to Filton Town Council for making this possible.\n<\/p>\n
\n “We are excited to be offering a new open-door session in this location and look forward to meeting anyone who needs help at FACE on Wednesdays, 10am to 12 noon.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The cost-of-living is still very much a crisis for many people but we can help.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Come to see us for help if you are struggling.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Mayor of Filton, Tom Mewies, added: “Filton Town Council is delighted to support this initiative which we are sure will be a valuable service for our community.\n<\/p>\n
\n “The council has already worked with Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire to provide help for staff and customers affected by the Active Nation closure earlier this year.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Now we are pleased that following funding from the council, Citizens Advice South Gloucestershire is extending that service to all of the people of Filton who might need advice on a range of issues affecting their lives.”\n<\/p>\n
\n The charity relies on grants and donations for its operations.\n<\/p>\n
\n In addition to Filton, it has open-door sessions in other locations in South Gloucestershire, including Yate, Cadbury Heath and Stoke Gifford.\n<\/p>\n
\n The charity also operates a free Adviceline telephone service on 0808 278 7947.\n<\/p>\n
