People claiming benefits in Northern Ireland <\/a>will receive their upcoming payment on a different date due to the August bank holiday. There are three more bank holidays remaining this year, including the Summer bank holiday on Monday, August 25.<\/p>\n

On a bank holiday, many businesses are closed including benefit offices<\/a>, job centres, and banks, meaning benefit payments due to happen on that date are moved. It has been confirmed that any payments due on August 25, will instead be paid on Friday, August 22.<\/p>\n

If you are paid monthly you can calculate your next payment date by counting four weeks forward from your last payment date and seeing if it falls on the bank holiday dates. Your payment date will go back to normal following the bank holiday.<\/p>\n

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP)<\/a> said the early benefit policy ensures recipients receive their funds before banks and government offices close for the bank holiday weekend, maintaining the continuity of support that many depend upon.<\/p>\n

The early payment arrangement will apply to all major benefits including Universal Credit<\/a>, Child Benefit, State Pension, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Carer\u2019s Allowance, and Disability Living Allowance, ensuring that payments originally scheduled for the weekend of 23-25 August reach recipients on time.<\/p>\n

The basic State Pension is typically paid straight into your bank account every four weeks. The exact day you receive it will correspond to the last two digits of your National Insurance (NI) number. Here\u2019s when you should be paid based on those numbers:<\/p>\n
