{"id":358756,"date":"2025-08-20T06:36:30","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T06:36:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/358756\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T06:36:30","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T06:36:30","slug":"azerbaijan-provides-fixed-broadband-internet-to-3m-households","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/358756\/","title":{"rendered":"Azerbaijan provides fixed broadband internet to 3M households"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20.<\/strong> Over the past four<br \/>\nyears, the number of households in Azerbaijan with access to<br \/>\nhigh-speed fixed broadband internet has grown 13-fold, reaching<br \/>\naround 3 million and achieving full nationwide coverage, said<br \/>\nDeputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir<br \/>\nMammadov, <a href=\"http:\/\/trend.az\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trend<\/a><br \/>\nreports.<\/p>\n<p>He made the remark during the final day of the presentation of<br \/>\nan innovation program implemented across Azerbaijan\u2019s regions.<\/p>\n<p>Mammadov noted that the project, in addition to improving<br \/>\ninternet infrastructure, represents a strategic step toward shaping<br \/>\nthe country\u2019s digital future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe expansion of high-speed internet has significantly enhanced<br \/>\nthe operational capabilities of Azerbaijan\u2019s technoparks. From<br \/>\nJanuary to August 2025, 26 legal entities, including two foreign<br \/>\ncompanies, received technopark resident status. Following<br \/>\namendments to the \u2018Model Regulation on Technoparks\u2019 in 2023, 144<br \/>\nlegal entities, including eight foreign companies, were granted<br \/>\nresident status to operate outside the technoparks,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>To support the growth of companies operating outside<br \/>\ntechnoparks, relevant statistical data was collected, forming the<br \/>\nbasis for the next stages of the support mechanism. \u201cThis project<br \/>\nwill implement initiatives aimed at fostering the growth of these<br \/>\ncompanies and increasing their export potential,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The deputy minister also highlighted the progress made in<br \/>\nAzerbaijan\u2019s innovation ecosystem in recent years. \u201cWith the<br \/>\nsupport of IRIA, a variety of incubation and acceleration programs,<br \/>\nhackathons, and ideathons have been organized over the past three<br \/>\nyears. More than 600 startups received support, with over 275<br \/>\nadvancing their ideas to the stage of a minimally viable product.<br \/>\nRegions, universities, and local and international partners<br \/>\nactively participated in this process. As a result, startups have<br \/>\nexpanded into sectors such as e-commerce, healthcare technologies,<br \/>\nedtech and agritech, fintech, clean technologies, the Internet of<br \/>\nThings, big data, and the gaming industry.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, venture mechanisms in Azerbaijan have entered<br \/>\na new phase. Over the past few years, various domestic funds have<br \/>\nraised more than $15 million in capital, of which over $2.2 million<br \/>\nhas already been invested in startups operating in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 20.
