Benjamin Sesko’s debut for Manchester United on Sunday<\/a> drew plenty of excitement from the Old Trafford faithful.<\/p>\n

Any striker arriving at a new club comes with the promise of goals – a prospect even more tantalising at M16 after the Reds’ struggles in that department last term. United<\/a> netted just 44 times in the Premier League in 2024\/25. It was no wonder they endured their worst campaign in a generation.<\/p>\n

Sesko<\/a> has the physical and technical characteristics to succeed in English football – hinting at a better future for Ruben Amorim<\/a>‘s team. As ever in the transfer window, all eyes are on the next deal and many fans will be growing impatient at the lack of sales which are restricting any further incomings.<\/p>\n

However, a transfer domino effect could soon take place which has inadvertently been caused by Sesko’s switch to United from RB Leipzig. The Athletic<\/a> claim that Leipzig are stepping up talks with Chelsea <\/a>over a deal to sign Christopher Nkunku.<\/p>\n

It is said that the Blues value their French forward at \u00a343.2million – a fee Leipzig can surely now afford after Sesko’s \u00a374m move to Old Trafford.<\/p>\n

And Nkunku’s departure from Stamford Bridge should then open the door for wantaway United forward Alejandro Garnacho to join Enzo Maresca’s side. It has been claimed on Tuesday that talks are advancing over a deal that will see Garnacho arrive at West London this summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

United are said to want \u00a350m for their academy graduate<\/a> – a fee which would represent a huge PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) boost. The player’s homegrown status would mean any sale would be pure profit – allowing the club more wriggle room to bring new players in.<\/p>\n

All eyes will now be on whether Nkunku’s move has any impact on Chelsea coming closer to United’s asking price for Garnacho. The club have struggled to reach agreements which would see other wantaway stars – Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony – leave this summer.<\/a><\/p>\n

Yet their deal for Sesko – already regarded as significant for United this season – may soon have another crucial impact on their rebuild under Amorim.<\/p>\n
