Exes Liev Schreiber<\/a> and his former partner\u00a0Naomi Watts<\/a>\u00a0had a surprising reunion this week to send their son Sasha off to college<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the 56-year-old actress used Instagram to share photos of her 57-year-old ex and their 18-year-old son as they got him settled for the start of his freshman year at the University of Southern California<\/a>\u00a0in Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The proud parents cheerfully shared a meal as Naomi posted to her Instagram Stories, writing over one snapshot, \u2018Here we go….\u2019<\/p>\n

The surprisingly friendly reunion between the actor exes comes nearly nine years after they broke up in September 2016, after being together for 11 years.<\/p>\n

In addition to their son, they also share their 16-year-old daughter Kai Schreiber.<\/a><\/p>\n

Both Naomi and Liev, who never tied the knot, went on to marry other people after their split.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The reunion comes nearly nine years after the couple \u2014 who never married \u2014 broke up in September 2016 after 11 years together; Pictured in Beverly Hills in February 2016<\/p>\n

The Mulholland Driver star went on to marry fellow actor Billy Crudup in June 2023, while the Ray Donovan sensation married\u00a0Taylor Neisen in July of the same year.<\/p>\n

Liev and Taylor welcomed their daughter Hazel Bee<\/a>, now two, in August 2023.<\/p>\n

One of Naomi\u2019s social media photos showed the trio after a shopping excursion during which they purchased pillows and kitchen utensils for their college freshman.<\/p>\n

Another snap showed the father-and-son duo walking side-by-side and holding hands in Downtown Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The mom-of-two wrote, \u2018Day #2,\u2019 along the bottom of the picture.<\/p>\n

She previously used the platform to post pictures from the move on Monday.<\/p>\n

‘\u2018Already [bawling],\u2019 she wrote across a photo of Sasha standing with his packed suitcases and bags.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Liev shared the moment from his perspective, as he said he was \u2018starting to feel the pull\u2019 while uploading a photo of himself standing with his son.<\/p>\n

He added, \u00e6Gonna miss my ride or die. Having said that, USC is gonna get one of the deepest, kindest, bravest and most beautiful boys I have ever known.\u2019<\/p>\n

Nearly one month ago the family marked Sasha’s 18th birthday, with the doting parents paying tribute on Instagram.<\/a><\/p>\n

For his part, the father-of-three shared a closeup image of his firstborn child\u2019s face with streaks of sun artfully falling across it.<\/p>\n

\u2018Happy Birthday Handsome!\u2019 Schreiber wrote in his caption. \u2018I really think you should reconsider that gap year hanging with me in Southeast Asia\u2026\u2019<\/p>\n

Naomi shared multiple photos as well, writing, \u2018Happy birthday sweet, darling @sashapeteschreiber.<\/p>\n

\u201818 today \u2014 and ready for the world! Cannot believe it.\u00a0Have so loved watching you grow into the kindest, most wonderful young man. Thank you for making me a first time mum.\u2019<\/p>\n
