{"id":359464,"date":"2025-08-20T13:01:23","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T13:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/359464\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T13:01:23","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T13:01:23","slug":"bristol-thai-restaurant-mangosteen-to-open-third-site-in-the-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/359464\/","title":{"rendered":"Bristol Thai restaurant Mangosteen to open third site in the city"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It already has venues on Cotham Hill and North Street<\/p>\n<p>11:53, 20 Aug 2025Updated 11:57, 20 Aug 2025<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/0_Mangosteen.png\" alt=\"Mangosteen Thai tapas bar on Cotham Hill\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Mangosteen Thai tapas bar on Cotham Hill(Image: Mangosteen)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The team behind a popular Thai <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bristolpost.co.uk\/whats-on\/food-drink\/\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">restaurant<\/a> is set to open a third venue in Bristol next month. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/mangosteenbristol.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"MangosteenLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Mangosteen<\/a> first opened its doors two years ago in the space previously occupied by Pasta Loco on Cotham Hill.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Founded in 2023 by Kedar Subedi and the team behind Indian and Chinese restaurant <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rocksaltbristol.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"RockSaltLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">RockSalt<\/a>, Mangosteen serves up authentic Thai dishes across two sites &#8211; both the original Cotham Hill venue and its North Street location. Next month it will open up restaurant number three on Gloucester Road.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The brand&#8217;s biggest site to date, Mangosteen&#8217;s Gloucester Road venue will be at number 187, the previous home of Saab Indian Dining. It will open on Tuesday, September 2, with opening hours running from 4pm-10.45pm Tuesday to Thursday, 1-10.45pm Friday and Saturday, and 1pm-9.45pm on Sundays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Operations manager Loki Stokes said: \u201cBristol as a city is well-characterised by Gloucester Road &#8211; it&#8217;s a colourful, busy, lively part of town, just as Bristol is. That also felt like a good match for Mangosteen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;There is a lot of foot traffic, and we always look to seat walk-ins and big groups, and having a bigger site is going to allow us to bring the Mangosteen experience to more people who might not have visited our other two sites before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">He went on to say: &#8220;Some of our favourite restaurants as a team are on Gloucester Road, and some of our favourite late-night spots are on the street.
