{"id":359473,"date":"2025-08-20T13:06:16","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T13:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/359473\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T13:06:16","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T13:06:16","slug":"more-celebrity-guests-announced-for-liverpool-book-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/359473\/","title":{"rendered":"More celebrity guests announced for Liverpool Book Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some big new names have just been added to the line-up for this year\u2019s Liverpool Book Festival, taking place on Sunday 7 September 2025 at Invisible Wind Factory and Make CIC in the city\u2019s North Docks.<\/p>\n<p>Comedy legend Stan Boardman, SAS national hero Rusty Firmin and Liverpool actress Pauline Fleming will all be taking to the stage at Liverpool Book Festival for talks, signings and Q&amp;As at what\u2019s set to be the city\u2019s biggest book festival to date.<\/p>\n<p>More than 60 authors are taking part in the debut event, with a packed programme that includes panel discussions, live music, free creative workshops for all ages, street food, artisan market stalls and the chance to meet some of the region\u2019s best-loved writers face-to-face.<\/p>\n<p>Joining the bill of guest speakers, 87-year-old Stan Boardman will be talking about his new autobiography, which takes readers through his early life, personal struggles, time on the comedy circuit and career highs \u2013 all told with the same trademark humour that made him a household name.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1551\" height=\"929\" data-id=\"224642\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/TIMQUINN.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224642\"  \/>Tim Quinn<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"408\" height=\"380\" data-id=\"224640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/RUSTY.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224640\"\/>Rusty Firmin<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"572\" height=\"560\" data-id=\"224641\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/STANB.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-224641\"\/>Stan Boardman <\/p>\n<p>Rusty Firmin, best known for leading one of the SAS teams in the dramatic 1980 Iranian Embassy siege, will also be in Liverpool to sign copies of his bestselling book\u00a0Go! Go! Go!\u00a0\u2013 the real-life story behind the hit film\u00a06 Days.<\/p>\n<p>And TV favourite Pauline Fleming, who\u2019s appeared in\u00a0Brookside,\u00a0Coronation Street,\u00a0Heartbeat\u00a0and\u00a0Doctors, will take part in an on-stage Q&amp;A about her career and her latest theatre project, currently in development with Unity Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>Other confirmed guests include Liverpool\u2019s Lord Mayor Barbara Murray, local broadcasting icon Billy Butler, Sunday Times bestseller Caroline Corcoran, Amazon chart-topper Conrad Jones, horror writer Ramsey Campbell, Marvel creators Tim Quinn and Alan Cowsill,\u00a0Beano\u00a0artist Nigel Parkinson, comedian Gary Skyner, chef Dave Critchley and punk legend Phil Jones.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1880\" height=\"1576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Book-fair.png\" alt=\"Liverpool Book Festival\" class=\"wp-image-224637\"  \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Organiser Justin Hopper from local mag and PR company La Vida Liverpool says the event is all about putting the spotlight on local talent and getting back to what books are really about \u2013 connection.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn a world of cold online purchases and big corporate middle men, this is a brilliant chance to meet authors in person and support them directly,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got such a rich line-up \u2013 some truly iconic guests and a waiting list of authors who want to take part.
