Jack Harrison made a winning return to Elland Road as Leeds United opened their Premier League campaign against some familiar faces.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Leeds<\/a>\u2018 relegation to the Championship in 2023 saw Harrison and several other players activate loan clauses included in their contracts, with Brenden Aaronson<\/a> and Maximilian Wober<\/a> returning last season.<\/p>\n

Aaronson rebuilt his reputation as a result of his part in the Whites\u2019 charge to the Championship title and Premier League<\/a> promotion as a result, but Harrison<\/a> chose to spend a second season on loan at Everton.<\/p>\n

Football Insider<\/strong> revealed that Harrison had \u201cburned his bridges\u201d at Leeds<\/a> ahead of his return to West Yorkshire, but Daniel Farke<\/a> welcomed the winger back into his plans as the Whites kicked off their top-flight return against none other than Everton<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Harrison was given a baptism of fire in his first competitive match back at Elland Road, but ended up on the winning side as Leeds edged Everton 1-0 on 18 August<\/a> thanks to Lukas Nmecha<\/a>\u2018s winning penalty.<\/p>\n

Wilfried Gnonto<\/a>\u2018s withdrawal in the 67th minute saw Harrison introduced to a chorus of boos from the home crowd, reflecting damaged sentiment for the 28-year-old after his two-year spell in the wilderness.<\/p>\n

He was involved in the build-up to the controversial James Tarkowski handball<\/a> which yielded Nmecha\u2019s decisive spot-kick, and Harrison posted on Instagram on 19 August to celebrate Leeds\u2019 victory.<\/p>\n

Harrison\u2019s message simply said \u201ccheers\u201d, and another former Evertonian \u2013\u00a0Leeds\u2019 recently-signed free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin<\/a> \u2013\u00a0responded to say: \u201cMa boiiiiiii MOT\u201d.<\/p>\n

Unlike Harrison, Calvert-Lewin didn\u2019t get on the pitch at Elland Road<\/a> having only completed his move to Leeds four days before the match, as only the second attack-minded signing of a busy summer so far.<\/p>\n

Leeds are closing in on another arrival in the form of Noah Okafor<\/a> after agreeing a \u00a317million fee with AC Milan<\/a>, and the Swiss international\u2019s arrival could harm both Harrison and Calvert-Lewin\u2019s game-time.<\/p>\n

Okafor<\/a>\u2018s preferred positions are as a left winger or centre-forward, and while Farke will appreciate more depth in attack, Calvert-Lewin and Harrison will hope they can maintain their places in the pecking order.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
