{"id":359848,"date":"2025-08-20T16:27:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-20T16:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/359848\/"},"modified":"2025-08-20T16:27:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-20T16:27:10","slug":"report-hails-spanish-fests-e5bn-economic-impact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/359848\/","title":{"rendered":"Report hails Spanish fests&#8217; \u20ac5bn+ economic impact"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Spanish festivals generated an economic impact of more than \u20ac5 billion last year, according to a new report.<\/p>\n<p>Consulting firm LIN3S\u2019 recently-published Festivals: A New Cultural Engine <a href=\"https:\/\/email.lin3s.com\/hubfs\/DESCARGABLES\/Recursos\/%5BLIN3S%5D%20Recursos%20%7CMapa%20Festivales%20Espa%C3%B1a.pdf?utm_campaign=17005859-%5BLIN3S%5D%20Recursos%20%7C%20Mapa%20Festivales%20Espa%C3%B1a&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_RdiFFNqeHoft3kwDEXS2X2qXfg6d5rce0_Uw4QZUcNUhhT30l8esEK_YXcA_sVkHDnk3N7tKO0RhdXBVUK4GKQGxJpA&amp;_hsmi=371717603&amp;utm_content=371717603&amp;utm_source=hs_automation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">study<\/a> states that more than five million people attended festivals in Spain in 2024, resulting in a \u20ac5.314bn economic boost and a direct contribution of \u20ac1.2bn.<\/p>\n<p>The country places third in Europe in terms of its number of festivals \u2013 behind Germany and the UK \u2013 and is responsible for 80,000 direct and indirect jobs. Live music alone was responsible for \u20ac725m in income, reports trade association <a href=\"https:\/\/portaldelamusicaenvivo.com\/los-festivales-nuevo-motor-cultural-el-impacto-del-sector-en-espana-segun-lin3s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">APMusicales<\/a> (APM).<\/p>\n<p>Spain\u2019s festival sector has ballooned from 450 festivals in 2010 to 872 in 2023, and topped 1,000 this year for a 93% increase over the past 15 years. Revenue has risen 370% in the last decade.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFestivals in Spain are no longer just culture, they are economy, tourism, employment and territory,\u201d reads the report. \u201cGetting to know the public is key\u2026 they are personalised experiences with high tourist and cultural impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The growth has been swelled by an upturn of events in rural areas, citing LeturAlma (Albacete), Festival Sinsal (San Sim\u00f3n, Galicia), Brizna (Huesca) and Reggaeboa (Le\u00f3n)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFestivals are living culture,\u201d it adds. \u201cThey create community, build identity and generate sustainable social impact.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cMusic sponsorship is a key strategic tool for brands to establish emotional and lasting connections with the public\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As previously revealed in APM\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iqmagazine.com\/2025\/03\/spanish-live-music-revenue-soars-to-all-time-high\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2025 Live Music Yearbook<\/a>, Borriana\u2019s Arenal Sound was Spain\u2019s most-well attended festival of last year, with organiser The Music Republic reporting 300,000 visitors across the course of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Primavera Sound Barcelona was second with 268,000 attendees \u2013 up 20,000 on its 2023 edition \u2013 and Villarrobledo\u2019s Vi\u00f1a Rock, also promoted by The Music Republic, was third with 240,000 fans. Mad Cool (221,843) and Benicassim (180,000) rounded off the top five.
